In 2021, Russia produced 300 metric tons of gold, which was the third largest volume in the world, after China and Australia." 1 kilogram of gold is worth $75,150 USD as of 18 April, 2024. Add to that the oil that Russia still sells to China, India, United Arab Emirates and Turkey. Think states like Hungary still buy it as well. Our sanctions will not bring Russia down.

  2. $20 billion of this package will be used to restock pentagon shelves. The pentagon was already $10 billion in the hole having sent more than Congress had funded. Ukraine will end up with 50% of the money (in equipment) and there will not be another package this year. Russia spends over $65 billion a year in defense. Ukraine will have roughly $30 billion worth. This is not a big defeat for Putin. If America send ATACMS with 300 km range ($1,476,000 each) that will not last long. Because patriot missiles are a must.
