That would be a good thing, but then what you're talking about is introducing it for the wrong reason.

@chappy2121 "hopefully they'll ban drugs and fat people then?" Many drugs are banned. "All cost the country vast amounts of money." That's not the reason to ban them. It's because of the damage they do to the people who take them. Nobody "takes" fat people.

@drew6194 "Well, golly, that sure worked out well for America a hundred years ago, didn't it?" Yes, it did. In fact it was working out well before that, as a number of states already had prohibition, and extending that was a grass-root movement to extend that, and it was very popular. It also resulted in such things as an increase of sale of children's shoes (their fathers weren't drinking their wages away), in the closure of many prisons (not enough criminals to put in them), and increase income for hotels (they were now safe places for families to stay). And all that despite poor enforcement. But the mainstream media ran a propaganda campaign against it in order that it be taxed so that the big media companies could have their own tax burden reduced.

@zxyatiywariii8 "I don't even drink alcohol but I'd fight against any attempt to ban it here." Just alcohol, or also other dangerous drugs? I can understand an extreme libertarian viewpoint to some extent, but not in making an exception for alcohol.
