@jonvdk5016 "sky news think that labor is soft on China where in fact it was the lnp who were overwhelmingly soft on China." You're talking mainly about the LNP being "soft" on China before China was acting so aggressively. Sky News is talking about the ALP being soft on China after China started acting aggressively. That's not a fair comparison.

"The net effect of the possession of these bases by China will be to cut us off from the US." Cut us off in what way? The U.S. doesn't have to go via the South China Sea to reach Australia. "The point of war is to acquire the resources of others or to secure your own resources against the real or imagined acquisitiveness of others." The point of some wars is. In other cases it's to stop evil.

"But that doesn't mean China is Australia's enemy, because we only want mutual respect." But is that all China wants? "You win, I win too." Only if they both have compatible goals. If one side wants to dominate, and "win" that, the other side does lose.

@TheKkpop1 "The neighboring countries of Aukus are poor for many decades." AUKUS refers to an alliance of Australia, the UK, and the US. Which "neighbouring countries" are you referring to? "The neighboring countries of China benifits from the peaceful rise of China." Again, which countries are you referring to? "Afghanistan is getting humanitarian treatment and development aids after 20 years of Aukus oppression." AUKUS is a new alliance, only months old. So no. And the oppression in Afghanistan is from the Taliban. So no again. "If that's not enough, US robbed USD 7 billions from poor Afghanistan. How sad!!!" What's your evidence for that? "When will US treat Southern Pacific islander as human beings?" What's your evidence that they don't? You're asking question that presume things that you've not shown, and which are not common knowledge.

@deebil8099 Yes, it would be something like that.

@jonvdk5016 "China has been an aggressive imperialistic nation for decades now. " Not to the extent or manner that it has become lately. "And how would labor have a chance to be soft on them, ..." Did I say that they have? No. The only reference to Labor being soft was your comment about Sky News talking about them being soft now that they are in power. "And when is 99y leases of our ports ever a good idea" How is that relevant to this topic? Surely the issue here is who they are leased to, not for how long. China leased Hong Kong to Britain for 99 years. Is 50 years okay? The Labor government in Victoria leased the Port of Melbourne to a consortium including a Chinese company for 50 years.
