  7. Reversed News That's what I meant, Cuba has incredible literacy & really low infant mortality for their income. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a higher overall satisfaction than those in the USA, as well. Cuba is doing quite well for itself, at the moment. The USA has a worse literacy rate. XD China has a much lower QOL than Norway&the rest of Scandinavia (which frequently is rated the highest). They have the worlds best education systems and I'm sure there are more things which they excel at, which I haven't learned about yet.

I like to point out to conservatives that cartels, gangs, and mafias and other criminal enterprises are a shining examples of a TRUE free market; no taxes, no minimum wages, no tariffs, no embargoes, no subsidies. Just people with products, entirely dependent on supply and demand. They trade with who they want, when they want, where they want, and however they feel is best. They are the true capitalists, and yet, somehow conservatives seem to hate them.

  20. ***** If you have no interest in providing basic necessities you follow no religion, you are a selfish, self centered, and cold individual. You would rather allow thousands if not millions to starve and die than to share anything. That is why a society can be judged by how it treats those with the least. It demonstrates that you collectively agree that those who cannot provide for themselves, or aren't given the opportunity to provide for themselves should suffer to death for it. It is a demonstration of kindness and generosity, an example of your basic humanity.

Construction workers&other building-related trades also need welfare because when the job is over it's SOL for you until you move through a waiting list behind hundreds of other workers. Welfare is used primarily by those who need it. You know who doesn't need welfare? giant corporations who make billions in profits. They are the true welfare queens, and yet you seldom hear conservatives complain about it.

  25. A family of 4 with both parents working full time minimum wage jobs lives beneath the poverty line. And typically, they're saddled up with hundreds of thousands in debt from buying a house, car(s), and college tuition. You try living like that, I dare you.

  27. kathy kelly You know what I meant, you don't pay extra cash to get an education. Roads may be build by private companies, but they are paid for by the government. They are designed and laid out by the government. Without any regulation corporations would have to use force to protect their income, products, etc. You support anarchy? You support having no formal military? You can't even defend your opinion, can you?

Do you appreciate police officers and firefighters? Of course not, because that's funded by taxes, which is theft. Government is often the lesser of two evils. Do you like cartels, gangs, mafias and other criminal enterprises? Hell yes, it's the freest market there is. No government subsidies, taxes, quality standards, environmental protection standards, tariffs, embargoes, minimum wages, insurance, or even protection; it's all done by the people running the enterprise. It's exactly how the entire USA would be, if we eliminated taxes (and as a result, eliminated government).

  31. ***** Nope, USA. I know that there are 2 wages now, or at least in my state, one for waitresses, and 1 for everyone else. In my union there is a wage system as well, apprentices get paid just 75% of the journeyman, and they over the course of 2 or 3 years work their way up to 100% (and a 3% annual increase).

  36. No, of course not. He can vote, hire lobbyists, get involved in PACs, etc. instead of complaining that taxes need to be eradicated while having 50% of his income be from taxes. If he said to_cut_ taxes a bit, then I wouldn't say to not be paid via tax revenues.

  41. They eat garbage, stuff with no nutritional content. They get fat because that's all the food is. They're fat AND malnourished. They should tax the bad foods and subsidize the healthy ones (and make foodstamps only apply to fresh produce&canned goods)
