  1. Haha! So true! When my wife of six years divorced me 35 years ago, I started dating again almost immediately. One day when I was picking up my son for visitation, she fumed, "I know who Brenda is!" I replied, "Good for you. So what?" She sputtered, lips moving, but not making any intelligible sounds. The implication was that I was still her "property" and should just sit alone at home miserable. She never remarried, becoming more and more rabid f'nist and bitter with every passing year. It doesn’t hit them hard because they miss you or regret leaving you. It hits them hard because you did better than them when you were supposed to collapse into a pile.
