  2.  @PeterNolan-009  I can relate on a smaller scale. I was falsely accused a few years back. No evidence, no witnesses, just her word. She disappeared, refusing to testify, but they held me for 2 years anyway. Burned through about 300K in defense costs, as the DA kept rescheduling the trial dates, and lost my home to pay for it all. Charges were dismissed, but no restitution or attempt to get any accountability from her. Fortunately, I did not lose my job. I received almost no help. Family turned on me too. An unlikely ally, the ex of the woman who accused me, did help out.
