  3. There are many sources of data from Government to private companies to associations of professions, the data for house prices is collected by HB Land Registry. The only real issue with the data is it may include data that modern culture has changed for example the price of Cigarettes if people do not smoke anymore they are not feeling the change of price. If price falls but people are not smoking why should this be in the inflation data? The reason is, the Central bank wants to be able to look back in time and compare to history, that is hard to do if you change what data is collected.

  4. ​ @George-d9l I agree, they need to update what data is part of inflation, to be accurate of what matters to public.
