@IconOfSin24148 Can we cut the BS for 5 min? They are the same people EXACTLY and they used to be organized in separate principalities, much alike the Greek city states or Italy. The Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire did not sign treaties with any Kyivans.

@sababugs1125 If we see it through a pov without any sentimentality no. The actual plan was never the defeat of Russia in Ukraine. In a sense Ukraine is a non entity in this conflict, just a means to an end. And the end is the political unrest, regime change and finally the break up of Russia into 30+ antagonistic smaller states run most probably by warlords, installed dictators with a huge nuclear armament in their disposal, absolute geopolitical chaos and unpredictable turns of events. If Ukraine loses, a country that nobody cared or possibly heard off 3 years ago loses. If Russia loses everybody globally will be affected.

@chrisahearn789 And what would happen to them if lets say that your scenario of annexation is true? Being force to speak a different language? Adopt a different culture? Follow a different religion? Pay a head tax? Have their children abducted and brainwashed into a fanatic military unit? I m trying to see how you imagine it.
