I fucking love your essay‘s. Thanks for bringing light into these topics. There are so many great Tech Channels up and running right now.. what a time to be alive.

@Asianometry Thanks for the reply. I very much enjoy the newsletter too! Its very useful and interesting to find this kind of content in English for non Chinese speaker like myself.

WHAT ABOUT AMERICA!!! 😏

Really enjoyed that one. You mentioned Morris Chang is finishing his second volume of his autobiography. Is volume 1 out? I'd love to read those too. PS, i'd love to see a dive into Skywater Technology one day if you're interested. Thanks for the great content!

Hi I enjoy your video so much , I suggested that you can make a video about salary and consumption in Taiwan compared to all the other “Tigers “ because so many people focus on low salaries issue problem here in Taiwan and if you compared to SK and SG Taiwanese income is stop growing since 2002

Love you content man.

Thanks again for all of these awesome videos!! You rock :D

Great video! Heavy on the jokes...

Interesting history, thanks for sharing.

Can you do a video on nanoscale photonics fabrication ? Can TSCM and traditional fabs supprt Indium Phosphide, Galium Arsenide and polymer based layers to make photonic device on die ? These are already done for optical transceivers for switches but there is talk of wafer and die scale light based data transport coming up to deal with the heat issues of high frequency data planes on die.
4
Awesome video and explanation...TSMC is one hell of a gem having an immense pricing power with higher yields with virtually no real competition around....Its just one hell of pure play foundry..... thank you for the video

Amazing episode, as always...Extremely informative

Dude, lovely channel!

Super interesting take on the AI revolution…. Through the eyes of asianometry! Great work Jon! The future of automobiles is full of semiconductors…. Automatic braking is going to save lives and tons of dough… Vehicle spacing is a nice way to get more vehicles through the same volume of space over time… Jensen Huang, CEO of NVDA, would make a fantastic guest on your channel!!! NVDA has a small business making semiconductors for the automotive business… that business is starting to grow…. When looking for your next car…. See if you can find the small logo ‘NVDA inside’ boldy placed where everyone can see it. 😃

Fascinating chapter in the city's history. I dig your stuff man.

First video of yours I've seen, glad the algorithms brought me to you, I look forward to seeing more in the future.
4
Great video as usual!! Just a thought , you could do better if you change the title like "how ships got bigger"!!
4
So much info in this video. I had to watch several times to understand

Brilliant

I really enjoyed it. Is this the part where I start screaming at you now?

For another excellent minidocumentary from this channel, checkout the video titled The Geopolitics of Taiwanese Pork Imports

Brouhaha is just another word that means "commotion"

I still want to understand how silkworms can produce silk. I'ts like they know that they are capable of, the smug little worms. Get on it, Asianometry!
4
Jon, this video reminds me that I would enjoy a video on the historical development of SOI in comparison with the bulk stuff or High-K metal gate.
4
You always surprise me with such a versatile portfolio of videos. Everytime something new and interesting!

Good channel run by an intelligent man.

I totally agree with you. I believe Taiwan is lacking a new class of investors that have more appetite for risk and global ambitions. My experience tells me there are more VCs willing to invest in late stage startups rather the early stages. One startup told me many startups get fundings from their families who already run sizable enterprises. This is a sad phenomenon where a country’s next generation of entrepreneurs or business leaders are largely “inherited” from wealthy families rather than based on merits like doctors, engineers and other professions. Instead of creating mega size internet companies, I think Taiwan should focus on the SaaS industry where novel, valuable solutions can scale very quickly and capex is rather low. I do think the lack of English skills and direction connection with the western world hinder many Taiwanese people from understanding their problems and culture, thus preventing them from creating solutions that meet their needs. Correct me if I am wrong, successful Israeli companies seem to know better how their products will fly in the U.S. Finally it’s marketing. Morris Chang has identified that as a TW weakness since the founding of TSMC. I personally don’t think it improved much since then; I recently saw one ad from one of the largest TW companies in ESL level english. For internet companies where branding and mindshare may play critical roles in a company’s success, they really need to elevate their marketing game.

This totally went over my head, but I still enjoy trying to learn about it.

Smart commentary, research, and summaries here - well done!

I heard you on the China Talk podcast 👍congratulations on the higher profile

This is one of the best YouTube channels. Thanks for the great video

Another great video!
4
Like ur work. Keep doing em mate
4
Nice video! imec is also a major silicon photonics center, both for research and as a foundry. Probably the most advanced academic SiP foundry with a MPW offering and directly competitive with leading industrial foundries.
4
another interesting topic, thank you so much. Edit: Would you consider doing a post about shadow puppetry? Sorry if this comes off as rude/demanding.
4
My man almost at that 400k mark! Watched the content get better and you blow up. Don’t lose steam bro 💪🏽💪🏽

Another great video. I can see a rise in subscribers. You sure deserve good compensation for all the great research effort.
4
Outstanding vid, bud! Keep up the great work; you're producing some of the best and most balanced China content on YouTube.
4
Yup, I posted a comment, and there you have it, I got spammed by the account -- and to others, please read carefully, the name of the account is "pinned by Asianometry", not simply "Asianometry", so NO, it's not Asianometry.
4

4

I think, I have said it before. But think your videos are really good. I feel that learn a lot every time, and that you take a well-balanced approach to difficult topics. Off course, this is easy for me to say, sins I have no skin in the game. Still I feel you are doing a great job, and I hope to visit Taiwan someday. Keep up the good work.

Apparently neon gas is a key element in producing semiconductors - and Ukraine is like the biggest exporter of it… could you pls whip up a video on that? Cheers dude 😁
4
Really interesting. Very well done. Thanks!
