  2. I did the same highway last year. Very cool. Also stoped by the house. We did stay one night in the driveway, since there wasn't anywhere else we could park the RV along the road. The guy was so happy to have accompany. Chatted with us for hours.

  4. Miss Yan, China is a country with 56 Ethnics group scattered across a vast country which majority of us will never witness in real life. Your travel shows us the harmonious society China is. Freedom is what you define it is, simple life, no anxiety, a roof over your head, food to eat and water to drink. Tibet is indeed a magical land, the scenery is majestic, the people are friendly. I would suggest after collecting all of these footage of your travel in China, that you will create a series of documentary. I would definitely support you on that project. What else can I say, but keep video document your travel.

I can hear the thundering footsteps of all the children running through the hallways as all their parents doorsteps fly by. And playing out in the courtyard, always within sight of home.

  12. I was born and raised Midwest United States.. and I was absolutely blown away at the fact she kept walking into people's homes! Like people she'd never met before, she would walk up to their front door and stand there... and the people would quickly say "are you visiting?" or they would quickly wave her into the door. Men, women, elderly.. everyone. Wow. It's so sad, but here in the US, in the times we live, if my daughter decided to take road trip across the country alone... I'd be so afraid it would be the last time I saw her.. and it very well could be.

Thank you for bringing us to see your hometown and to see the “real” China: I always felt the real China is really very beautiful but unfortunately as a foreigner it is very difficult for me to see the real China because of language difficulties. The further away from the bigger cities the less english signage available. So I really appreciate videos like these 😊

I'm from the Yakthung (Limbu) community, the indigenous group of eastern Nepal, bordering both India and China. here, the drink @ 15:30, we call it Tongba, an essential part of our culture now. Last time I read, we appropriated the drink from fellow Sherpas residing in the neighboring regions.

  26. What an incredible video! I loved the format, the way you explore the city, engaged with the locals, as well as getting an insight into how life is like in these remote regions. I would love to travel to places like these myself, but I find it so incredibly hard and stressful when you can't communicate. However, videos like these aren't just travel videos, they are so much more, they are windows into a completely different world than our own, which most people can't/won't travel to. They are snippets of history, with beautiful stories and photo. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole video, subscribed and I know I will get excited whenever you post anything new!   27. Highways in desert, planting straws to block sifting sands! I have seen so many amazing things in China, and this is one of those marvels! Harbin snow to Taklamakan sands, she has come a long way, and she is so cheerful, lovely lady. I think as such Northeast people are very, very friendly. Such a wonderful video, Yan, I have already started it to see it second time! 🥰

The Tajikistan shop keeper was so sweet, and many of the Russians you met on the train and on the street were so friendly. It was also interesting to see how different the twin cities are, even though they're so close.

Thank you so much Yan, and for the history background as well, the more I grow up the more I regret not learning about China earlier.. we are so focused on ourselves here in Europe, that we forget to learn and teach (to my generation, in between millennials and gen-z) so much more about the world and other cultures. I really wish to visit one day some of these beautiful places you're showing us, and even if I won't experience the same interactions with locals as you do, I feel grateful to watch your videos and experience this regardless, as if you're bringing us all on your backpack with you!! Not to mention, I found your channel during a very depressive period last winter, and while secluding myself from the world, I still found great solace in watching your videos every day. It was so refreshing, I felt as if I was escaping away from everything, immersed in these beautiful landscapes and culture.
