My heart goes out to the half-Nigerian girl - her childhood experiences sound so painful! It's amazing how she still grew to be such a kind soul. My family is from the south and it is like a family reunion in my mouth. I just hope he adds some kid friendly options(just 1 or 2!).   29. I love the effort you guys make, I really do, I'm even one of the people who donated when Steve made that tough video, but I'm really hesitant on giving you guys a like on this video. First, to get the most silly thing out of the way, you guys literally used exact same answer clips from 2 people in this video on different questions. 3:37 vs 9:47, and 11:19 vs 15:09, I mean really guys? Did these people really just gave the exact same answer to 2 of your different questions? Or was your editing just simply sloppy? Now, onto the subtitles... Oh boy, just when I thought you guys are picking up the slack on this matter, you slap me with this video. I can understand some of it because whoever did the translation might not have a perfectly comprehensive understanding of local Chinese people. But you guys are putting words in people's mouth, and changing their words... 13:20 said China has over 1 billion people, each individual's honestly is important to the nation and to the relationships among/between people, he mentioned nothing about "having the credit system is important". He might very much agree with it, but it is not your job to infer what he meant beyond what he actually said, just leave that to the audience. 14:05 she said if they wanna transmit user data abroad, they must abide by national laws and regulations, she did not say "go through the government", these 2 expressions might be similar in the mind of whoever did this subtitle, but to general viewers they may very much be different. Why can't you guys just translate what they said as is? With all these harsh things being said, I do appreciate that you guys tried to convey what ordinary people on the street think, and for the most part stayed out of biases with an open mind, I applaud you for that.

  38. I’m a uni student in Japan and have Liberal views. I also love gender studies and human behaviors, but I wouldn’t run around calling myself a feminist. I think especially Japan and Korea are having a hard time grasping feminism, and both radical ends of the spectrum are becoming very prominent in the media. I honestly think we need a new name bc the public perception of the word has changed from its origins in English. Yes there are radicals, but at the end most people in this debate want equality, and some are too defensive or close minded on the matter to truly comprehend the original ideology of the movement(which is valid, unless you’re goal is to hurt others). We need to spoon feed each other to understand one another and that’s ok. We need to do that. That’s why videos like this are important. Nothing will ever change as long as we are constantly feeling threatened by the “other side”. (It’s more like a spectrum actually, doesn’t make it black and white just because you slab a name on it)

  40. I understand the fear and the grave uncertainty that accepting refugees poses to our country but it breaks my heart to see that some are downright opposed to helping those in dire need. South Korea was birthed by the plight of torment by foreigners and shaped by a devastating war. We know what it means to fight a civil war; we know what it means to be divided by ideology, by government and to kill men who look like they could be our neighbor and brother. Despite this, I know that our priority is to Koreans first, but in the greed of self, I hope there is space for empathy. I hope our government and people stand in solidarity with these refugees because they come with no choice. They either come here and are treated like invasive species or stay there with all the risk of hellfire. Having said all this, I know the Youtube comments can be a tricky platform to speak so outspokenly like this. I just want everyone to know I may not agree with your opinion but I sure as hell respect it whether it is anti-refugee or pro-refugee.

Because if not, that is so closed minded. What would you people have her do? Forcibly remove her accent? That's absurd! It's the content of the video that is important. Not the voices behind it.

  45. I think the real question should be, do all countries educate their children about their dark history to a FULL extent? Are Chinese kids taught about the Tiananmen Square Massacre? Are American kids taught about Agent Orange and the massacres in the Vietnam war? I definitely think Japan should educate the kids more about their dark sides in WWⅡ, but what scares me the most is that many people outside of Japan seems to think that this is a non-issue for their own countries.
