  12. I want to say that it's really awesome for Asian Boss to open up the discussion about eating disorders and the topic of unhealthy beauty standards portrayed in the media. Really, it is so needed, so thank you! Though I have to say that the discussion (about eating disorders and the pressure to adhere to these beauty standards/look a certain way) being directly followed by showing ways to control and manipulate the shape of your body is actually perpetuating the problem, not helping it. The focus on body shape and numbers, the feelings that are derived from controlling your body, your weight, your eating, using exercise not to feel good but to control your body - this is what the eating disorder IS. By encouraging people with eating disorders to still lose weight, only in a "more healthy" manner, you are only playing into the mental illness, perpetuating the cycle and the preoccupation with controlling your body. I can understand that if you don't have a personal experience of an eating disorder, or if you don't have an education involving the mental illnesses that eating disorders are, that it can be difficult to understand the connections between controlling your body in one way (that is societally deemed as something "good") versus another that is deemed destructive. Eating disorders are so much more than just not eating enough. As a person who has suffered from anorexia, and is in recovery from it, this was just so visible and painful as the discussion and message of the experience of the sufferers was so good and important, but that it was completely counteracted and misunderstood in the end. It is a very important topic, but so many people are reluctant or afraid to open it up, so I want to thank you again for doing so!
