  2. Ugh I'm so sick of Peppa Pig. Her popularity even pervades Hong Kong. Whenever I'm out with my girlfriend and she sees Peppa Pig she has to buy some merch for her niece. The "craze" has infected her mother too. I can't go out in the street without seeing Peppa Pig.

  8. Great interview, Asian Boss, and extremely thought provoking! I was surprised to find out North Koreans aren’t as closed off as we’re given to believe. I had no idea they had access to so much information about what life is really like in both South Korea and China. Once people’s eyes are open, there’s no way to make them believe the lies you’ve been telling them. Brainwashing only works when there is no other competing messaging. You didn’t, however, address one of the greatest barriers to North/South Korean reunification: China. Right now, China sees Korean reunification as an existential threat. For as long as South Korea is politically, and economically closely aligned with The West, The United States in particular, China can not tolerate the idea of losing North Korea as its Communist Allie. Having a US backed Democracy at their border accessing The North’s resources and economic opportunities is a complete non-starter. I actually view China as being the ultimate barrier to Korean reunification. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

  13. When I see that it's Dr. Kim???? I click really fast !! He explains everything in a way that I can understand. When I listen to the Doctors here in the States? It's like they're beating around the bush, or the politicians who know nothing about these viruses, get involved, and it turns into a scare tactic, and can't answer questions, even if they don't have the exact answer. Dr. Kim makes it make sense. Thank you Asian Boss for another great interview with Dr. Kim.

  16. Counter-narratives aren't needed. If a person can't judge something on its own, then that person needs to learn how to think. Providing counter narratives only aids in keeping people stupid. Instead provide them with proper tools to interpret the world with, i.e. logic, reason, philosophy, history, religion, science. Too many people rely on others to think for them and this is one of the great ills upon all civilization now.

One can see also the misconceptions people have with regards to the 'grass being greener on the other side of the fence.'   39. The last statement is what democracy is all about. The Government is supposed to be afraid of the people not the other way around. If you hand over too much power to the politicians, the citizens are the ones who will suffer. Which is why politics shouldn't be a taboo topic to talk about with friends and family. It should be engaging, and everyone should be involved for the betterment of the people. Good Job Korea!
