I just can't be sad over this because MY Chrysler died decades ago.
The Chrysler I remember was Chrysler Corporation. Not Stellantis, not Cerberus or whatever it was called, DaimerChrysler, or FiatChrysler. I am talking Chrysler Corporation. Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial. Valiant. Dart. Dodge (not Ram) trucks, from pickups through over-the-road. Not rebadged Alfa Toe-Nails.
I'm 75. I saw Hudson and Nash go when American Motors came about. AMC gave it a go and had a good run. Studebaker stopped making cars, but went on with their many other businesses; they did not "go out of business". Kaiser/Fraser went. So did Packard.
Face it, folks. Companies die, whether from bad management, failure to adapt to the times, or the public loses interest in the product. Look at the ones that DID adapt: when was the last time American Express handled a package? When did Western Union last handle a telegram or offer TWX/Telex service? They pivoted into other businesses and remain successful.

@aclock, it isn't a truck, it is a mid-sized pickup made in the USA, more, probably much more than what you drive. Most likely can haul as much or more than what you drive/own. It will out most everything on the road in adverse weather; Rain, slush, snow, hail, mud. Has a roomy, spacious cab/interior, a comfortable ride, will pull a family sized boat, a two horse trailer/with horses, a camper. Rarely breaks down, 22 mpg City, 26 Highway, has outstanding resale/trade-in value, nothing like it. 5 of them in my family, driving with a big grin on their faces. btw; we have all owned/driven large pickups “TRUCKS” in the past as well as other mid sized pickups “TRUCKS..”

I bought an actual hardbody, new, 1991, base model, no AC , manual transmission, no radio, no back bumper, 7K. I have driven for over ten years, only replacement part, a fan belt.
Those were the days, not today.

Keep an eye on the timing chain cover for leaks. I noticed oil up on the passenger side valve cover when I first purchased it NEW. Thought maybe AC leaking somehow. Degreased the engine bay and never saw it again. Fast forward from 2018 to 2022. I noticed more oil up on the passenger side valve cover. Took it to Toyota. Still under warranty. They replaced the gasket and told me that the sealant that they are giving is an upgrade......more expensive. Not sure why this is still a problem. Only had 23K miles on it. They had to drop the rack, oil pan, half shafts, intake, valve covers, and front of the motor (of course) to replace it. Made me about sick to see my bullet proof 4Runner disassembled!! I do not like others wrenching on my cars. I would suggest degreasing the engine and keep a check on it. If it goes, you want to make sure to catch it while under warranty. For the nose dive and body roll I put on Bilstein 5100's. Helped alot!!!!! Also, replaced the tires with Michelin Defenders. Mine is a 2018 SR5 Prem. with 4x4. So, pretty much the same as yours as far as the bones. This is my first 4Runner, had been wanting one for years!!! Wife always said it was too trucky. She likes this one. Other 4x4's we have had - 88 Bronco II, 1999 Explorer, 2001 Pathfinder 5MT SE, 2002 Pathfinder LE

1:57 I do know what the purpose of it is,,,,,All GMC Canyons come with amber marker lights in that area,, GMs not gonna make separate fender flares ,,,they saves thousands only making one,,,so when they go on the Canyons they are cut out and put in that area,,,on Colorados they are left like that,,,even the Chevy Guy on his channel didn’t know that,,that kinda blew me away,,I thought he knew everything Chevy!

First of all, great comparison! I was so close to getting an Expedition, then I backed out. I test droved Expedition three times, one thing that I didn't like was the visibility, I expected more visibility from this truck based SUV. somehow the visibilty it's just not there. seems like the A pillar on the expedtion its more slanted, that might be the reason.Pros: the horizontal screen with phyciall buttons and kobs, thats a big plus, way better than the vertical one. It's also more intergrated, rather than a tablet that coming out of the dash board. The Twin-turbo has so much power. cargo room, I like it how it can fold completelly flat. rear cargo glass opens seperatlly. Cons: visibility wasn't that good, the second row seat it's too slanted as well. Driver and passenger head rest doesn't adjust front and back.(only the Platinum and King ranch does). No foot actived cargo door opening feature. Blue cruise should be on Limited trim and up as a buying option not only the highest trim. Nissan seems like has better visibility, and second row seat more confortable. I wish they could make the screen more intergrated. rather than a tablet. Also cargo area, (make it flat, when the seats are fold down). Twin-turbo V6 would be nice if there is an option for Nissan, that could be more fuel efficient. There are rummors about both vehicel getting redesigned in 2024 or 2025. Looking forward to see both SUVs.

It's a great vehicle. I've had the limited model for about 4,000 miles. I'm a Chef, and I have to haul around crates of groceries and occasionally bits of kitchen equipment in the PNW, so the tonneau is great for that. It's very fun to drive, and I like that there aren't many on the road. The only car I cross-shopped was the Outback, but in the PNW, I wanted something I could find in the parking lot, which is a sea of Subarus. I love the unique style. I had a 2013 Ford Escape and a 2018 Focus (given to me). Both those cars were very poorly made, so I didn't even consider another Ford. If they made the Maverick as solid as a F-150, I would have considered it, but it seems they make them like their small SUVs (Ford doesn't make cars now), which are absolute, unreliable, fall apart junk. Not to mention the dealer mark-ups and wait times. I walked into the Hyundai dealership with cash and got the exact Santa Cruz I wanted within 2.5 hours.

Glad is not the word, more like relieved; and this is coming from someone who WORKED at a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM dealership.
What has happened to Stellanis is a general out-of-touch hubris that large corporations, and in particular the automotive industry, tend to demonstrate.
These guys spend time looking at success and not, WHY unsuccessful things fail. For example, why AREN'T people purchasing new vehicles? Versus WHY did the last customer purchase their new vehicle?
If they did they would realize that they're not reaching a large enough segment of their potential customer base to move more units. They are profit margin chasing, rent-seeking, greedy, rotten capitalists!

When I was in tech school I should have listened to one of my instructors when he said, "don't plan on getting rich being a mechanic." I was already wrenching on cars as a kid into my early 20's. After school I got a job at a small shop and after 3 years I got a job at a dealership. By year 5, I was already creating my exit plan from the industry. I was applying to all kinds of jobs and eventually ended up staying in the industry for 15 years. I was the dealerships master tech and they kept giving me raises, I could have gone to another shop an hour and fifteen minutes away from home and made more money. I was offered more money in the interview and ended up turning it down. I already hated my job as a mechanic, add an hour and 15 minute commute to working 8hrs a day doing something you hate? No thanks. It took me five years and taking the test 3 times, every time the company was hiring, and I finally made it into a union doing maintenance on the infrastructure that this company owns across many cities. I work all over the area, I'm in a different place every day, I get to work outside a lot, I get AMAZING benefits, pension, 401k tons of over time and I make TWICE what I was making as a mechanic. The determination and hard work to get OUT of the automotive industry was worth it. The ONLY way I would be a mechanic is if my wife was the bread winner and my income was just supplemental income. I worked with several older mechanics over the years who's wives had six figure jobs.
If I could do it all over again... I wouldn't buy expensive tools, I would call in sick whenever I wanted, I would come in hung over, I would smoke weed on my lunch break and drink a couple beers, I would do WHATEVER I want! These dealerships don't pay you near enough and expect you to know how to work on complexed systems. I'd get to the point where I knew enough to do most jobs and then refuse to get any more certifications, and then i'd be the biggest jerk off technician at the shop. That's the only way i'd be a mechanic again. That industry is a joke, so i'd give them a joker. 🤣 Just kidding....kinda.

Damn, those prices are high for those!!
If I had kids, I would opt for a small class C motorhome.
For about the same price you get a toilet, a sink, a shower, refrigerator, a microwave, stove, couch, tv and a bed!
I don't think these should cost more than $50,000 tops!! And $50K should be with all the bells and whistles!

I have had 2 sv model frontiers, I bought a 2012 and then sold it and bought a 2018 ,I had a toyota tacoma 4x4 before I bought the 2012 and price was why I bought the Nissan compared to the Toyota, I drove the 2012 about 220 000. Miles and never had a issue other then oil changes, I drove my 2018 about 150 k without any issue ever and was completly happy with them, In 2020 I had a chance to get a new tacoma from a friend with under 10,000 miles ,so I sold my Nissan and bought his Toyota 4x4 sport for basicly a even trade since I got top dollar out of my Nissan, After owning 3 Tacomas over the years and 2 Nissans, I would not have a problem purchasing a new Nissan especially since the savings on the comparable model is probably 8000 dollars, I have to say I have never had any toyota in the shop for anything but a oil change either so in my hundreds of thousands of miles driving both vehicles, I may go back to a Nissan frontier next time because it has proven to be just as good a vehicle as any toyota I have owned,

There's a perfectly logical explanation why the new Mk8 GTI isn't available with a manual gearbox. VW hasn't built it yet, atlease not for the US models, specifically a new manual gearbox that's capable of handling the increased torque numbers that the 4th Gen EA888 engine produces for the Mk8 GTI. The 7-speed DSG gearbox is handling the increase just fine, so that's why it's the only option. In addition, even though the DSG is commonly referred to as an "automatic transmission," it's really not a true automatic. To be technical, it's most accurate to view it as a hybrid gearbox...operating not like a true "automatic" nor a true "manual." The DSG is pretty much a manual gearbox, but without the manual clutch pedal. That's been refined and replaced by the mechatronic unit mounted to the gearbox housing. The mechatronic or "computerized clutch" enables the DSG to be superior to the manual in every capacity. However, there remains that category of driving enthusiasts that believe only a manual gearbox can provide a pure driving experience. Just my opinion, but I've driven both and opted to purchase my GLI with the 7-speed DSG for all-around better performance. Go VW, keep crushing those numbers!!

Where are the GTRs and Zs??? I believe that when they sent Ghosn to jail, for some questionable reasons, still not proven clearly, they blew it. He had things going well w a great line up, including all the V6s and V6 Turbos. Infiniti was doing well and Nissan had ideas for the future that looked interesting. That was like shooting themselves in the foot, out of Japanese pride, and I do think they could have done it w a bit more thought towards their own future. Since then, there hasn't been much exciting besides the Z. All the other models, in general, have lost the nice engines, Infiniti, using that same wonky 2 L turbo, which they somehow codeveloped at a point w Mercedes...compared to the V6s is still weak. Even the build of the newer Infinitis feels a bit cheap. They are killing off the Q50 and Q50 RedSport, the GTR, the QX50 is nowhere near the 2017 as far as being a solid overall vehicle. Their cars were also well developed with so much R&D, that you could rely on them for years. And I have a 2017 QX50 and have driven the newer models. Mine is still in awesome shape and looks great. The 3.7 V6 is powerful still. All that being said, I am happy about them not going w Honda, as Honda already have their hands in too many businesses and I am sure Nissan would not be a priority. We can only hope and pray they don't kill off the Z and that they realize why people were buying their cars and trucks. At least the Frontier is still a very solid truck that has been well developed. Hoping for the best and that they remember their roots and let that drive the future. Oh, and I am def looking at a Z if it is still here...since the GTR is seriously marked up and very hard to find in all states. The Z by comparison is typically marked down. I thought about the Frontier, as it is more practical, but, I love speed and driving dynamics too much!

This Honda plastic quality issue is being reported from locations all over the country in numbers sufficient to state that reflective windows are either not a culprit, or are something for which plastics chemists ARE liable for taking into account when designing polymers.
Just like with the Toyota spontaneous acceleration scandal some years ago, some percentage of these reports are probably hyberbole. However, again, the numbers indicate that this is a ligitimate issue that needs to be researched.
I have a basic understanding of how one mixes polymerizing chemicals. It appears Honda had a major plastics vendor fail during mixing, or that a major chemical supplier provided bad chemical ingredients to one or more vendors. My hypothesis, based on photos on the net, is that the it was a long term mixing problem that results in the plastic off-gassing in the sun and deflating the uncured "plastic" cells as it does so. This will ruin the paint on the plastic, as well as the plastic.
Hyperbole. I wouldn't assume that the metal flash rusting os a quality issue. Any sheet steel hit deeply enough to remove the coatings will "flash rust," as it is called, almost overnight. Don't allow side issues that are not relevant muddy the water or distract either you or Honda during your quest for Honda to provide new plastics for your otherwise excellent automobile.

I started in the wrenching business back in the '70s. Adjusted for inflation I was making about $64 per hour in today's dollars. Us technicians did pretty well, and many of us spent our money on new cars, motorhomes, boats, and vacations. Me on the other hand, well I spent my money on California real estate. Then In early 2005 AutoNation arrived, they sat us all down in the conference room and told us " we're shocked at how much you people make", and as you can guess it was downhill from there. Eventually, and in my opinion, after wringing everything they could out of the dealership by taking advantage of customers and employees, profits diminished, and they decided to close the dealership down. That was the moment I realized I could make it on my own managing my rental property. I haven't spent one moment regretting my decision.

Last spring I seriously considered a new Tacoma Limited, test drove one, could actually get it at near sticker. Did have a ceramic coat, $1500 markup funny because the same place did my Camaro Zl1 for $1100, oh well. Anyhow I did like it but, there was a catch, it had a stop sale and they said I wasn’t really able to buy it yet. Also had a rattle coming from the back area, seemed like back seats or underneath it. Kinda gave me pause, and really did not sit well with me. Slept on it, then next day went back to another Honda Ridgeline (24 Black Edition). Suits my needs and was $11000 less out the door so paid cash and that was that. So far so good, no issues. And that 11k saved went into my RZR fund…

Honda’s quality is going down and down. I have a 2021 Honda Passport bought new, the body panels shifted in the past two years, now uneven panel gaps all over especially the rare end quarter panels, rare doors etc. The driving experience goes downhill as well, more body rolls when the suspension softens up over time. And the car called for a rare differential oil change only at 12k miles, no, it was not a dealer recommended service, it was the freaking service code proudly displayed on the dashboard. At 17K miles, the service code said I need to replace break fluid. WTF, I have own many Honda in the past 30 years and I have never seen this kind of craps!
The informtament system is glitchy too, sometimes it just drop all the radio signals, now from time to time telling me my phone was disconnected and in the same message saying my phone is connected.
The Honda sensing system also glitchy, every time I drove over certain part of the road, it told me to break! While there is nothing on the road. It happens every time at exactly the same spot on the same road, may be there is some radar signal near by that jam the car’s radar.
Of course all problems can’t be reproduced at the dealership.

I always brought toyota tacoma and Tundra, I am so turned off with these new toyota trucks, not even worth it, I owned 2019 toyota Tundra TRD PRO, love it, and 2016 toyota tacoma, planned on keeping them, I will never buy another toyota trucks if this is the future of toyota trucks, I don't want a V6 Tundra, or 4 cylinder turbo tocoma, I am done with new toyota trucks, like your vedio.

The moment this video started, I said, that looks like the place up the Hwy from me. Sure enough, I see that it is. It's not a bad place at all if you're going to buy or get your car serviced. Always friendly. Lately, they have been flying balloons and pasting the year of the car stickers on the windshield. I expected to see rebates, incentives, and price reductions advertised along with that hype... nope! Nothing. Surprisingly, I walked out the door in 2016 with a brand new Denali 2500 diesel, fully loaded for $60k and 1.8% interest. Now, with very few changes, that same truck reaches 6 figures! The payments the size of a mortage, NC yearly property tax, high interest, and the 57% increase in auto insurance costs. Just not worth it. And why? Because you engineered a tailgate 15 different ways and added cameras? It's the same truck. For now, I will keep driving by watching the balloons wave in the air and the suckers make the purchase. BTW- your video is on point.

I bought my first truck, a 1992 Toyota with about 20,000 miles on it for $12,000 back in 1994. My second truck, a 2000 Dakota, I factory ordered with the 4.7L V8 for just under $18,000. I miss those days. I had it for 16 years, and put over 314,000 miles on it, until the frame rusted out. Still ran.
I think the truck companies will have to rethink their pricing strategy since Ram started to drop their prices now, and it's just the beginning. I wanted to switch to Toyota, but I can't justify the high price/low reliability factor. I'll continue to wait to see what happens.

Everyone is shocked at the sticker prices on these trucks, but that's not how the broke people who buy them think. They look at things in terms of the monthly payment. If they make $7,000 per month, the truck is only $1000/month of that so, hey, it's totally affordable right? Of course, after taxes their $7,000 is $5,000, plus they blow $1,000 per month in restaurants/bars, $2,000 on rent/mortgage, still have student loans from 10 years ago, owe $30,000 on their credit cards, and are trying to pay back the $20,000 they borrowed from Mom and Dad four years ago.

I like the design of the new ones, I just don't like, lack of engine options, engine recalls, turbo charged and to top it all off, we get to pay more. I feel like the RnD team just said F it, let's release a new untested model to make everyone beta testers. I've owned turbocharged vehicles in the past. They require more maintenance. So now we have to buy more stuff to make the car functional, every 3-5k miles. It's a truck, not a sports car. If they gave truck guys a dependable, naturally aspirated engine at a reasonable price, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lot!
