I started attending at a small antiochian parish in south dakota after moving here in 2020, and we are adding about 10 new members every few months. Our parish is small and our priest only comes one weekend or week a month. (he travels 1000s of miles each month to serve parishes in 4 different states). You can have a small parish like this and still hold a service each sunday called "Typica" which doesn't require a priest present. We have finally reached a point where we can afford a larger location and a full time priest later this year.

Hey Luke, you can have multiple languages on the spellchecker at the same time. let g:pandoc#spell#default_langs = ['es','en'] ( im using a vim- pandoc btw ) This is a snipet from my vimrc. It looks like you can do it with base vim set spelllang=en,es

yeah, I remember when there were interesting websites outside of social media. Sites which I would visit daily. There were fun blogs, the kind of which we don't visit anymore except through links in social media websites. However, I got to know these through Orkut, a very basic social media website which used to be famous in Brazil. How could we get to know good websites if not through digital public squares? We meet each other in these big Behemoth websites like Twitter and then we get to know our personal werbsites through these encounters. The problem is the fact that upcummies and advertisement made these websites not only addictive but also central to "our" day to day life.

I have never felt so free in my life after I started running sed 11q, I can only imagine how free it would be to have my own land too.

what 50 million cows? how dare you insult the 60 million cows like that, 70 million cows were used by the runescape characters to create cannons, they'd fire babies, over 80 million calves were used as target practise and ammunition. so dont ever insult the 90 million cows

Wait, people go to Linuxfest without protective suits?
53
That's it, the Linux community has become infested with toxic alt-right trolls I'm switching to Windows 10, the most accepting and diverse opperating system. It's time that us tollerant, left-wing folk leave Linux forever. Everyone who doesn't follow me is racist and I will block you. #Don'tvoteGNUnomatterwho

actually left the terminal to comment this lmao can confirm, newsboat is a game changer. i use a dmenu script to store the links with the correct tags & names. You can sort by first tag with "t", so i use that as basically a category. that's def better than adding ---Whatever--- to the url file also dmenu linkandler script to choose which program i want to open the link. thanks a lot for your vid on urlview, made my life a lot easier. the modern internet sucks but if i can get away with not using it im fine lol also: use surfraw, people!

I didn't know what to be more amazed at: the bloat of their websites or their incompetence at developing. Gradually I began to hate them.

All this shilling for Zoom seems really unnatural. In the UK even the BBC is doing it. For those of you who don't know, since the BBC is taxpayer funded, as a precaution against product placement they are supposed to hide all unrelated brand names, use generic names whenever possible, and follow any off the cuff mentions of brand names with "other products are available". However in every news story they're always name dropping Zoom to millions of people in places where "video conference" would have conveyed the exact same meaning. I had never even heard of Zoom until coronachan.

Am I the only one who’s mad because he didn’t tell the difference between %% and ## in a string formatting operator?

This is so true. Love the Chad Bible thumbnail btw. I made a few stupid decisions at college because I convinced myself that I shouldn't be so "uptight". After making those I regret them and I realize that it's time to make better decisions and be more outspoken about the fact that there are right decisions and wrong decisions. Morals aren't relative and to imply so is to be intentionally closing your eyes. When Luke says "You know what's degenerate" it's really easy to play dumb, but deep down we do know what is and isn't degenerate because morals aren't relative. There is absolute truth out there. Thank you Luke!

For those wondering where the art comes from it's by the Russian artist Vsevolod Ivanov. From slavorum.org: He said that he believes the history of ancient Russia today is very fabricated, so he collects old tales and legends to create his own version of Russian history. This set of spectacular art will lead you from paintings as Vedic Rus (has to do with Indo-European culture) where he shows us how trully Russian past has looked like. You will find on his images objects from alien ships, to dragons and mammoths; all the mythical characters that started the Russian civilisation as he imagines it. You can view all the artworks at https://www.liveinternet.ru/users/repman/post257649839/ there are explanations for each in Russian, but google translate does an ok job. Reminds me of "bygdetun" https://i.imgur.com/keB52ki.jpg that you can book for activities for the traditional vibe
