FULL DISCLOSURE: I own a Bushnell Elite 4.5 - 18 x 44 (FFP, mil/mil, G3 mil illuminated reticle, 30 mm tube). I feel it is "affordable" to me, a retiree on a fixed income at US $949. + 8.25 % Nevada sales tax. I bought it for long range hunting here in Nevada.
*I agree fully with ALL the ratings in the video review. BUT, remember this scope's price is, IMHO, not just "affordable" but quite low, and as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." - if you are lucky. (With Bushnell you always do. I own 4 of their products.)
THAT DAMNABLE BDC RETICLE:
There are even several much pricier scopes than this reviewed Bushnell that have a "BDC" reticle which purports to give you "aiming dots/hash marks" for a SPECIFIC bullet caliber, weight, shape and ballistic coefficient (BC), powder load, velocity and IN A FIXED ENVIRONMENT (ex. sea level, 70 F., 35% humidity, etc., etc.)
WILL you always be shooting THAT load in THAT environment? Nope! That's why beyond 250 to 300 yards BDC reticles lie to you.
Unless you will always shoot the similar load less than 300 yards AVOID BDC RETICLES!!
Learn how to use a MOA or mil radian reticle. Become a more skillful shooter. You will like it.
