@EpikArms i will share my experience. I evaluated to buy a tikka after my bergara hunter 308 b14 for a longer range build, despite the perfect reliability and the astonishing groups my b14 printed (0.3 MOA comsistently with geco 170 gr sp cheap factory ammo), mostly because of all the hate that you see on the forums lately towards Bergara. Again, also there most people that have a bad opinion, doesn't own a rifle of this brand and it seems like they can't accept that there is a spanish made rifle on the marked which is better made and more accurate than their remingtons and that is a good rival for their mighty unfailable tikkas. Then I looked at tikka offerings in depth. A part from the fact that i don't like the look (and the price) of the cerakoted models, i didn't find a single 308 with a 56 cm (22 inch) barrel: only 61 or 51 cm ones. Why? I think 56 cm is the id eal barrel lenght for a hunting 308. Then, i noticed very thin barrels and extremely light or too heavy rifles, without a medium weight rifle. Most offerings didn't even come with threaded barrel. At the end i bought another B14 hunter in 308 and, with prices in Italy, i paid as much as I would have paid a Tikka but in the price i included also a triggertech primary trigger, an aics floorplate, 2 aics 5 shots magazines, scope mount from talley and scope rings from tier one, an harris notched bipod and a mountain grovetech sling. Now i am gonna uograde the stock and put a nightforce on the rifle. Basically at the same price of a scoped and stock improved tikka you can get something very similar to a full customized remington 700 with better barreled action, great trigger, cerakote, stock, accessories.. and my b14 comes at 10 pounds, which in my opinion is the perfect weight for a long range rifle.
To who says to directly buy a semicustom.. yeah it would be nice but here in Italy the offerings are limited and very expensive, you have to wait almost a year and i really don't like the look and feel of newer style hunting rifles with fluted bolts and carbon fiber wrapped barrels, even if i am just 31 😂
I will make a HS precision imported here, though. The rifle alone will cost me 6 thousands USD and it will probably be a 7 mm PRC.
Ciao Epikarms, thanks for the great content!

I think this is a fair and honest review- I tend to agree with each gripe, and I love the 455/457 series. While they are beautiful and accurate, the actions could be a little more glassy, and the bolt lift could be a little lighter. Especially when the MTR, and a few others in the 457 lineup, are directly aimed at the NRL22 match shooters. I owned the 455 Varmint Precision Trainer, and while I loved it, I did need to take some light rubbing pound and a Dremel with a felt pad to smooth up the action. I also had to install an aftermarket cheek rest, and lighten up the trigger with a Yo Dave's. Those are some things that easily could have been addressed in design and production. Oh well, they aren't big enough issues to not own the gun, hats off to CZ for a fine rifle.
