  27. A lot of Western Europeans and Americans have some assumptions about Eastern-Central Europe and how dangerous they are and how bad its worst neighbourhoods are. Truth is, it's still Europe, and not any more dangerous than other urban areas in Western Europe, although poorer. Moscow, Budapest, Warsaw etc. are probably much safer than London, Paris or New York city.

  40. My uncle retired several years ago and bought a farm in an Amish community near Chambersburg, PA. He was a gruff, hard drinking, swearing (every other word), non-religious construction contractor from NYC. He was single but frequently brought in various women from the NY area for weekend trysts. So he was everything the Amish were not, but they embraced and accepted into their community. After a heart attack, they took care of him like he was family. They brought him breakfast, lunch and dinner, washed his clothes and cleaned his house, and everything required on a small farm, and did it all as if he were an Amish family member. Oh, and one other thing, these people were by average American standards quite affluent, even wealthy. They have my respect and admiration —the Amish I met were wonderful people in every respect.

  50. As a farmer/rancher from Oklahoma, I thank you. You give better insight into these places than ANY big media has or ever will give. It would be awesome if you came to visit an Oklahoma (or any midwest) farm/ranch to give people a true perspective of what life is like here and how we've been told to view other parts of the country. Even better if you brought someone from one of these big cities/hoods. I think one of the biggest issues in this country is that we are spread so far apart that we can have no real communication with each other and from that comes lack of understanding which causes division. Keep up this work! It is truly needed in todays society!
