  5. Well, I am glad Steven saw what I saw, when I moved to Ogun State after 35 years in the UK. Bottom line, Ogun State is an economic power house, in terms of land mass, Ogun humbles lagos state, Ogun is also the gateway to not only Lagos, it is also the main gate way from Lagos to other states of the federation. In comparison to Lagos, Ogun is a natural resource rich State, we share the deepest coastal sea shore with Ondo State(A big shame we lost the Dangote Refinery to Lagos State). Real Estate opportunities are enomorous, land prices have certainly gone through the stratosphere. In the sphere of education, i believe Ogun State has the greatest concentration of Universities compared to any other state in the federation. In terms of industrialisation, Ogun has the largest concentration of industries in the entire federation. From Sagumu through Kobape right down to Abeokuta, new industries are springing up daily. To crown it all, like Lagos State, we have been fortunate enough to have his Excellency Dapo Abiodun as our current Governor. Prince Abiodun has quietly without any extravagance continued the fantastic foundation works laid down and brilliantly executed by our own Jagaban, Senator Ibikunle Amosun. More grease to our dear Govenor's elbows, Long live the Gateway State, may father lord continue to bless our beloved state with visionary leaders that will continue to add value to our state.

  14. This is the kind of content I love, one that speaks to the heart and mind of blacks, stories that inspire us. Nobody inspires the way Nigerians do and that is coming from a zambian. I have observed Nigerians and nobody has yet changed my mind to date on what I am about to say. They are the most determined, creative, innovative, dogged, enterprising and super confident Africans. When I see a good thing I will say it out loud, you don't have to be my tribe, my countryman so long as you are black I am delighted and inspired. There are other Africans who are equally determined, but nobody beats the Nigerians.

We were settled in Bauchi State and one the first road trips in naija was to Yankari. Your video brought tears to my eyes. Such fond memories of my childhood in Nigeria. I am assuming you are an igbo guy (Forgive me if I am wrong). In this day and age so many young people have given up on Nigeria. Many are calling for Biafra, Arewa or Oduduwa. It is hearting to see a young Nigerian go to the North to showcase His country. Please keep it up. We need each other no matter where we come from.

  24. I don't understand why Lagos property developers never consider landscaping in their design. It is always either artificial grass or stone/concrete paving. In a decade's time I bet the Lagos property will look outdated while the Nairobi one will still remain fresh, as it does not just follow blindly the trend of the day, but also has a character and homely feel, which the Lagos one feels more like a contemporary sterile museum.

Both cities have their charm, pros and cons and it also depends on your preference of accommodation, I would go for the Nairobi one.

  42. This is impressive and groundbreaking. I love how they incorporated trees and planned the city out to the tea. I see and understand the controversies around it and those are valid. But that should not undermine the project and the positiveness of the project. If successful, which I am 98% sure of it success, it can really do a lot of good and change the narrative for Lagos and the whole country. It will impact the tourism sector, more investment into the country (with its success and the population market) and transform the country with the narrative that "yes, Nigeria can do this and has this advance city" Granted the average citizen can not afford to live there but it can be a recreational center (for commercial and entertainment purposes for everyone) and a vacation hub (to further entice people to visit the city and learn more about the country, putting the country on the map). Just some few positive attributes of the project! Can't wait to see the finish vision.

  44. Building mansions in the village is not really just for bragging. They are only trying to avoid the mistake their fathers and forefathers made. During the Biafran, many Igbos that ran back to their ancestral home with their families had no place to stay but had good houses in the cities. Igbos had so many properties in other parts of Nigeria. And after the war, the properties were taken away from them, which some parts of Nigeria called abandoned properties. They lost their money in the bank and also lost their homes in the cities. That is one of the reasons Igbos decided to build far better houses in the village than in the city. They are also sure nobody will take it away from them out of envy. And if things go south, they will have at least a place to fall back on. It will also serve as a generational symbol even when the owner is no longer there. Don't also forget that Igbos don't bury their dead who have children and live an upright life outside their ancestral compound. Wherever the person dies, he or she must be brought home. So, not really for bragging, as some people believe or were made to believe. Those who are saying it is for bragging don't know its genesis.
