  3. Wow, congratulations. I put up a tire repair video a long time ago and it's my number one troll video. I think you'll quickly find after you get a few hundred thousand views as you usually do that 98% of those viewers are tire patch experts. You may not have known this... There's three things you never do on YouTube... Weld anything even if you are an expert, solder any type of wire, even if you are an expert, or patch a tire. You've broken every single rule....😐

  5. Ray, you are 100% correct about showing someone the way to do something the right way. That is how people learn. Not by trial and error. This was my lesson to a flight instructor. He had me learning crosswind landings. One after another I did not get it. He said keep doing it, you will. Then I said "you do one. I want to see how you do it" I watched and I got it the 1st time after that. You can not let someone keep struggling to get it right when one demonstration gets it done.

Ray , I have a suggestion for your ventilation Remove the sheet metal hood , retain the duct exiting the roof Install a inline duct fan on the duct exiting the roof so it blows out and install your fan in the boarded up window blowing into the shop You will gain a solid airflow exiting the building from the roof. You may need a second fan at the other end of the shop bringing air in to insure you don’t have a dead zone in the air exchange Ray you are the Man! You are moving things forward at light speed ! Keep it coming Sir!

  15. Install a m6 x 1mm stud to full depth of your threads, and use stud retainer locking compound. Then secure the pump with an m6 x 1mm nut. The stud with locking compound will allow more clamping force than trying to use a bolt.

  18. 3 months ago, I wouldn’t have dared to try any body work, or repairs, it all just seemed overwhelming. After watching Ray, I started telling myself, “I can do that,” and the journey began, because of Ray, I totally refurbished my 1994 Chevy Silverado, and now she runs and looks beautiful. On my Nissan Altima 2014, I pulled the front bumper, replaced the grill that was damaged, painted and clear coated it, then put it back on, without losing any pins, screws, and bolts (none leftover). Now the front of the Altima looks brand new. My next project is to tackle my son’s front bumper. Thanks Ray for the confidence and the ton of money I saved by DYIing everything myself.

My statement literally only says the price is justifiable because the customer brought it in, and the mechanic did what the owner could not. "That's why honest mechanics are broke".   29. Id just like to say its nice to see your well thought out linear diagnostics approach . Especially on electrical work. I am a service/warranty rep for a Large Zero turn mower company. It amazes me how bad the thought process of most of the techs when they do diagnostic work especially electrical. It wont start. So they immediately go replace the starter. When there is multiple safety circuits on a mower which prevent it from starting. So thanks for sharing your skills and renewing my faith that there are mechanics out there that do it right.

  36. The "Dunning Kruger" effect. The less the new guy knows, the more of an expert they think they are. Simply because they don't know enough to realise how little they know yet. That's also why older techs get less confident in their own ability over time. There's a lot to be said for being young and naive. It makes life so much easier.

  44. I always use my specially formulated and calibrated blend of Nitrogen, oxygen and other various gasses at a comfortable 115psi. If it's taco truck Tuesday and Larry is near the compressor the formulation includes methane.

I would somehow before reassembly prop each end of the rear end up and douche the heck out of the axle tubes to flood whatever unwanted metal souvenirs out of the unit totally:-) As for the numbers going up on subs...it's all you Ray...good things come to those who wait...you've waited and the fruits of it are coming at you.   50. That's a dewar. Holds refrigerated gas. Probably just venting due to being shaken, and pressure building, like when you shake 30lb R12 bottles to get the rest of the refrigerant out. No need to worry, except about asphyxiation.
