I'm Scottish and have grey eyes but can look blue if wearing blue or green if wearing green sometimes they look dark or light depending on light conditions. My sister has Hazel eyes, and brother blue eyes.

I just look in the mirror and know I am part Northman too! 👌💪🇳🇴

Australia has a few blue eyed people in this hot joint but they all hale from Northern climes

Makes sense. Move them to the colonies. And they became the frontiersmen and Indian fighters in the Appalachian region during American colonial times. Bout everyone in the Appalachian region is of scots-Irish descent.

My Dad had pale grey eyes which looked like the foam on ocean waves. His family came from Ireland as far back as anyone could remember. Both his parents were from Ireland. As a child he had bright red hair which turned black by age 18. His skin was also very pale. My Mom (Northern European) had light brown hair and eyes. I have hazel eyes with a sun burst of brown/amber with light teal rings. My sister has pale blue eyes and both of us are redheads with very pale skin. I was taught in college that brown eyes would cancel out blue eyes and thus my sister and I both should have had brown eyes. However that was ages ago and your videos are enlightening.

Thank you its fascinating, nearly visited Sardinia in the 80s but wild weather cancelled our boat trip. Always regretted.

Your brogue is very strong and I have a problem understanding you!Perhaps slowdown a bit , I love the subject though👍

Red hair, blue eyes. Most of my family and ancestors are Scottish and Irish with a sprinkle of Polish thrown in

After watching few of your videos it seems I am quite a unique specimen.... Male, with 1,90m slightly above average, blond hair and green eyes with a grey margin. And on top of that, my hair turns brighter in summer and a bit darker in winter.

I’m not even scottish, irish nor british. I’m just a simple filipino amazed by celtic culture and folklores. I wish to go and live in Ireland someday because of my obsession 🤞🏻

Yay! One for Green eyes.....

And many people forget that Scotland was named after the Irish tribe called the Scotti 🇮🇪🏴💯✌️

Funny thing I mentioned at the start of the movie to my wife....I bet one of the main characters is gay......didn't take long

Really great explanation of a complex subject! Many thanks!!!!

There's a married couple of comedians, Viktoria and Ramil Kasimov. She's an Udmurt and, of course, a redhead. Ramil is from another significant Volga population — he's a Tatar. If you are fluent in Russian, look the Kasimovs up — they are absolutely hilarious. Uralic and Turkic people coexisted along the Volga for centuries (if not millenia), it's really fascinating how their (and Slavic Russian) cultures and genes have intermingled, and yet remain distinct in that area. As a side note, as a blue-eyed, reddish-hued R1a carrier, I'm kinda confused by all this fuss about R1b 😁

My YDNA (which originates from the Clyde Valley), is of the original inhabitants of the isle: pre-BB, so the fact my strict patrilineal line managed to survive until today has always fascinated me. Thanks for the video.

I wish they would investigate scotia grave in kerry lreland

Great vid Thank you! One thing I am always trying work out is the Balliol thing. He always seems to take a bad rap for some reason but I have seen a lot of reports that although Edward may have thought he would be a puppet Balliol didn’t have it and resisted on more than one occasion , although unsuccessfull. The other proof of Balliol being a patriot was William Wallace and Murray were fighting for his claim and to return him to the throne. I don’t think they would’ve stuck their necks out for him if he wasn’t worthy. Now no one is taking anything from the Bruce. At the end of the day he got it done at low odds of success but I feel because the way it played out Bruce is always portrayed the good and Balliol the bad. The Balliols may have actually had the better legal claim to the throne from what I have seen as well. What happened at the altar with Comyn will always be a great mystery too. Was it the way the film the “outlaw king” portrayed it or was it more of an ambush to take Comyn out?? I often wondered why it didn’t turn into a battle because surely Comyn would’ve went there with a platoon as well right?

I’m blonde and green eyes, but am short (4’10”) athletic in my younger years, still very active now. Don’t know if my stature is genetically predisposed or if it’s because I was a premature baby. Everything works, though 😂😂😂😂❤

Wonderful video! Scottish and Irish history is incredibly fascinating.

I’m a Celtic Galician (mum’s side) mixed with Roman bloodline (dad’s side) and I’m bloody proud of it ✝️💪🏻

And more interesting is the non-Indo-European substrata that existing before, and their influences on modern languages (Basque and Etruscans and Linear A neo-Crete, etc.). It would be interest to see their influence on Celtic languages.

Great video, i look forward to seeing more of your work

Do you think there is any relationship to the Hyksos? My family came over from Scotland, England and Saxony. The tradition is that they are highlanders to explain moving into Appalachia but I am sure it is wishful thinking.
10
Excellent but slow down! This American had real trouble listening as fast as you spoke! Keep up the good work!

Great video.. 👍🏻

Great content . I find it so interesting. Big thumbs up man 👊
10
So much ! So much history here, really appreciate your work effort!

I can honestly say as a proud yamnaya descended man myself, I prefer the violent expansion narrative, and find no shame in it at all only pride, just saying what most men are thinking even if they don’t admit it lol
10
As people say, there are Iberian people in Sardinia and there may be a mixture too
10
I'm still learning english and your wonderful accent is really challenging !

Most attractive girl I dated had gorgeous green eyes

It's a great video. You surely are one of the best Youtubers on the Celtic subject.

Another great DNA explainer!! It clarifies my own genealogy reports & family history. Thanks so much! We humans have always been “migrants”!!! 😊

"Portugal meaning 'port port' would be weird". Meanwhile in England, the city of Torpenhow: Tor = hill in old English; Pen = hill in Welsh/Bryttonic; How (Haugr) = hill in old norse. Therefore Torpenhow = hill-hill-hill

Green-eyed redhead here. My mother's side is German and French and my father's side is from the Netherlands.

Colm at one point says he “likes the double s-h sounds” and that’s why he calls his song “The Banshees of Inisherin”. Seems like an important scene.

I'm a little bit Norse but mostly Scott. I'm always looking out for the origin of mtDNA, HV0. It's usually lumped with something else and no one has a clue where it came from. I've seen it called an imperfect transition state, yet it has survived 30,000 years - Archaic!

I have only just found out I'm in 15% Danish and Swedish in my DNA traits.... Apparently that "Viking genetics " came into my maternal family's dna in 1600's. greatly interesting for me.Thank you. Best regards from Poland 🎉❤

My Grandfather Alexander Michie was born a crofter in Fife in 1870 but came to Chicago, Illinois in 1889. He found work as a stone mason and married a Scot whose family settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He kept his Scottish heritage as a piper marching in parades in his kilt, he trained dancers, and sang songs. We don't know why he left as a teenager, likely seeking a better future than as a crofter; he would never talk about it or contact other family in the USA of which we learned only recently - but his love of Scotland never faded. Thank you for making videos.

I don't often think of Picts and Anglo-Saxons being allies. Except the Barbarian conspiracy. It's usually known that Hengist and the Jutes and similar peoples joining the southern Briton Celts to fight the northern Picton Celts.
10
my Celtic relatives the Macfarlanes claim to have originated in the Iberian Peninsula

In Highlander , Connor MacLeod's nemesis, Kurgan (named after a Scythian burial tomb) was from none other than Russia , as told by Connor's Egyptian mentor from Spain , Sean Connery. Seems like the director had heard of the mythology...🤔

Thanks mate that was great.Go the Gaels.

My paternal haplogroup is I1a2a1a1d and my maternal haplogroup is K2a5a. I am British with English, Irish, Welsh, French and an ancestor at some point who was Indian. Red hair is in my family, I carry a copy of Val60Lue which is a weak red hair gene. Which is on my mothers side. I have brown hair and grey/green eyes but I was born with fair hair.

Constantine The Great was too early for Coel Hen. The Constantine in question is Constantine III, who was eventually given co-Emperorship with the legitimate Roman Emperor Honorius in 409
