This man can hear my thoughts. I was just about to do the brakes today and here he comes.

I bought this capacitor jump starter 4 years ago, have used it 5 times and still works as of 3 months ago... So yeah it's the best.
98
The Mercedes depreciates like a lead ball falling , and after warranty expiration , would be a nightmare to keep , for me there's a no brainer , Lexus all the way.
98
The biggest complaint I have with the dealers service. Is they will top off the brake fluid! The brake fluid level is your brake pad indicator! I have been an aircraft mechanic since the early 70s. That is one of the first things I learned!
98
Reliability, dependability over performance and style. I absolutely love what Emma Watson said in her quote. In the second sentence quote she said “You have a family to feed, not a community to impress” . ❤️
98
Congrats, your team deserves all the success due!

I can believe he stops in the middle of a video shoot to sweep a floor dirt, Awesome men

I am a professional car electrician, I love your jobs
97
I'm a mechanic, I work in a shop that specializes in Mercedes Benz vehicles...and we treat those with the utmost in respect, I'd be terrified to touch this Lexus...it's just so damn perfect!

Another turbo tip: When ambient temps are low, you must run the engine long enough to heat up the whole engine and turbo. If not, the water vapor in the exhaust will condense on the inside of the piping and housing. That water will cause parts to rust and significantly reduce the life of shafts, bearings, housings, and oil. It also leaves a spot that is only water to reduce startup lubrication, corrode AND freeze. I didnt know that was a thing until my buddy's turbo died during the winter. He literally cried, and i didn't blame him.

Damn fine work, love to see a true professional who cares about the quality of work he does.
96
I can really see in this video just how much experience you have with Toyota/Lexus. It’s amazing how you can tell what’s wrong with just a quick glance. Love the content on this channel!
96
You are such a great mechanic. It’s hard to find someone as thorough and knowledgeable as you. Most mechanics unfortunately do what they as a chore, you are different. God bless you.
96
I've done many "birf jobs" on 40-series, 60-series, and 80-series Land Cruisers over the years, so it's fun to watch someone else do this messy job instead of it being me.
96
We’ve had ours for a month n half now and love it, if you are a speed freak don’t buy it. If you want a comfortable ride, quiet, built like a tank quality and great fuel mileage buy it. We get from 30-35 mpg already at 2,600 miles. We got xle and enjoy everything about. Thanks for the review
96
Bought a new 2019 4Runner and they said free maintenance. Recommend 10000 miles between oil changes. My ass. I do it every 5k. Synthetic or not. Miles mean NOTHING. Engine run time means EVERYTHING.
96
Just relax. It's not the end of the world. Always enjoy your videos.
96
I will never buy a car without seeing you review it. That’s how much I trust this channel to give me unbiased advice.

"I guess the guys in the shed didn't get that memo" I had a good laugh. To perform a transmission fluid drain and refill, I almost bought an on-line knock-off for a transmission pan gasket with and associated "paper and plastic" filter to replace the "metal" one on my 2010 Corolla. Then I thought, no, this looks very cheap! It appears that this paper could just break down over time and plug the various channels up in the transmission so the unsuspecting user can save $20 now but pay maybe $2000 to $4000 later!. Bad thinking! I closed that browser fast. I went with the dealership OEM transmission pan gasket and a new washer for the drain plug and an O-ring for the upper stem of the metal filter which I just cleaned out with new, fresh transmission fluid before re-installing. I cleaned the bottom of the transmission pan and magnets and the mating surfaces of the pan itself and the lower mating surface of the transmission housing. I also used the correct transmission fluid for the vehicle and over time just drained and filled the fluid two more times to get the majority of the old fluid out. It probably wasn't necessary to drop the pan and clean it out but I am picky. And yes, original parts and correct maintenance helped me get 400,000 km on my previous Corolla (1990). I learned a lot from this video. Thanks!

I was a master Chevy technician and a master ASE technician about 20 years ago and watching your video's it is evident that you are a credit to your profession I'm sure your dealership appreciates your value to their company. You are doing a awesome job
96
An old friend of mine had one in silver. This one looks pristine considering how old it is. Honestly, I'd take that car over any of today's.
95
I had a Taurus SHO with a Yamaha engine. Drove that thing for 20 years with zero issues! Whole video would be fine. Whatever is easier for you and Jose.

Interesting and timely review. IMO the average DIY person who really wants to fix the vehicle needs the bi-directional control capability to do an adequate diagnosis of even basic systems. You've got more and more complexity in vehicle systems - yeah you can look at codes and live data but that's still half the tool needed. As you look at individual modules you need a way to verify operation or as example the famous evap leak detected codes a way to isolate the purge and pressure sides of the system. Its about time that big cost step for a bi-directional tool was reduced and I hope market competition will continue to drive it down.

Precision: For the Parking pawl, let the car settle itself with the Parking brake fully engaged then only put it in Park. If you don't, the weight of the car will still be on the Pawl!
95
Thanks for pointing out that if you DO go aftermarket LED they need to be high quality. I bought LED turn signal bulbs with built in resistors and work with Canbus systems. They were expensive $50/pair but they are plug and play. You shouldn't hack your cars wiring to add stuff to make it work.
95
Great video, very well done. The aftermarket hood struts are made by us, Spiker Engineering. They can be set up to open the hood up to 8" higher than stock, which really helps with access and light.
95
Even a dealership does not have a clean and efficient setup as your shop. Great floor! Good job as usual!
95
I just wanted to say thank you for emphasizing that hybrid owners should maintain their high voltage fan filters. I recently bought a 2012 camry hybrid (used) and you convinced me I should see how my filter looks. Turned out I didn't have a filter at all! I'm worried about how long it hasn't had one, however, thankfully I talked to the dealer that I bought it from two days ago and they said they'd take a look at the high voltage vents and fan to make sure everything is in good shape and they likely won't charge me. Thank you.
95
It's not only dealerships that see this type of customer, it's everywhere.
95
I just purchased my first hybrid car, a 2021 Highlander Limited, and learn more about my car from your videos than the dealer's sales and service personnel. Thanks for your work. Now to find my hight voltage fan vent.
95
Congrats on the soon 2-year YouTube anniversary and going over 25 Million views!! You’ve kept me busy these past few years catching up with our vehicle maintenance but it’s nice to drive around knowing things are no longer neglected!!
95
Windshield replacement itself is something most FJ owners experienced but to me a real problem is how those glass guys reinstall other parts around the windshield. They may be a glass specialist but not for each specific car design. I have repeated problems with moldings and cowls improperly reinstalled around windshield.
95
Great words of wisdom. I personally would NEVER buy a salvage car. Unfortunately most people are clueless regarding cars.
95
I have noticed that some online Toyota dealers will allow you to order parts online and they have NO place to fill in your VIN number. I have worked in the parts department so I know how important it is to always use your VIN number when ordering parts. Especially when it comes to safety parts like brake control devices. I enjoy your videos because they are so informative and packed with knowledge. I worked in parts and as a mechanic for the big three, Chrysler, General Motors, and Ford and knew absolutely nothing about Toyota until I started watching your channel. Now I own Toyotas and I'm extremely happy with the quality and knowledge on how to work on them. Always looking forward to your videos AMD! God bless!
95
people who own these take note. maintain them, because in about 20-30 years they will be worth quite a bit. one of the last fairly analogue cars that wont give you headaches. its happening with 90 cars now and it will happen with this car as well. all the miatas, z06s, accords etc are going for ridiculous prices since they are 1. reliable 2. "fun" compared to modern cars. back in the days those care were considered boring in the same way this lexus is now.
95
As a former lexus technician, this information is GOLD. I was completely thrown off when I saw oil filters at Walmart. I'm gonna go check again to confirm that they are counterfeit.
95
They better still be reliable! I just broke the bank buying a new Toyota!
95
As a San Francisco native, this car was a Bay Area Air Quality dept vehicle ( based on the sticker) or a Municipal Transit dept car ( based on the over head beacon). That being said, this car probably gave me a parking ticket on street cleaning once or twice. 🤣😅
95
I remember taking some auto classes in community college and learned about load index, UTQG, aspect ratio, mfr. date stamp, different wear patterns. I think it’s to everyone’s benefit to take a couple auto courses in school, you can learn to DIY and diagnose certain issues and not get taken to the cleaners by dishonest mechanics. Great videos as always AMD!
94
This is the difference between a Toyota certified technician who takes pride in his work and reputation vs a quick lube shop that upsells other services to get more out of each walk-in customer. Great job as always AMD, I'm curious why they left the stickers on the front strut mounts, that's a bit odd.
94
AMD, The enthusiasm is justified. For years I have been telling friends shopping for their next car to buy a Toyota Hybrid. The ones that have listened are very happy indeed and they have saved a fortune in gas.
94
I grew up and was raised in a time when your primary concern was to install the part properly. We didn't have to determine each and every time who was lying, cheating and stealing whenever we bought a part. It's a whole different trade today for many reasons but this one is becoming a bigger part of it every day. It's been the hardest one for me to wrap my brain around.
94
What an awesome review of the next generation Prius . . . concise yet very thorough with expert observations and informed opinions. Thank you.
94
If I lived closer, I would gladly let you use my 2022 IS 500 for a review!! You are my utmost favorite and respected car reviewer and wish you could be the one looking after my car. You are truly the best in the business and explains why you have such a loyal fan base! Keep up the amazing work my friend!
94
The mark of intellegence is the ability to explain something simply - thank you for this, Sir.
94
its not just Toyota, its everyone now. everything in this vid is correct.
94
In my opinion I like the seat cover idea. Some of the options can be better than the OEM leather.
94
I have put 110000 miles on my 2018 Toyota Camry. So far no issue
94
For even a master technician, there’s always a lesson to be learned. AMD shares his knowledge so other can also learn. Hopefully, this customer can return to the previous shop, explain their situation and obtain a refund and their old cam sensors.
94
This gentleman seems like one of the coolest car guys on YouTube.
