  2. I understand what you are doing, I was a Master Toyota Tech myself at a dealership. I worked there 11 years and opened a Toyota repair business like you did. Done that 24 years and then retired. I did all 22re blocks replacement in 1985 due to hard blocks that never let the rings seal and burn oil. I got where I could do one per day. Keep up the great work would love to meet you one day and talk Toyota's. I started working at Toyota in 1979 and got to see all the new changes like EFI, and timing belts, VVT and OBD2 just to name a few. I admire all the work you do and educating the public of what goes into working on Toyotas.

  3. As an automotive engineer, I sometimes am pretty critical of your reviews because I actually create the DNA and know why engineers do what they do. But this is one of the best Transmission Fluid Change Videos I have seen irrespective of automotive brand. Really puts into perspective risk/benefit of changing fluids as all cars age. Thanks for helping inform the public.

  5. I've changed the oil on my cars for more than 50 years. I taught my wife soon after we married, and she was religious about doing so on her own car which she herself maintained for over 15 years. She did the neatest, cleanest oil changes I'd ever seen -- never spilled a drop, and somehow, she never got dirty, either. Even better, this got her accustomed to looking around under the hood, and she wanted to know what the other parts were too. She immediately noticed anything amiss and was even able to fix some things herself, like a cracked hose causing a vacuum leak. I strongly encourage women to learn this type of job. A great confidence builder. My wife became much more informed about cars starting in this way.

  7. small correction, the 3UZ is the 4.3 while 1UZ is the 4.0. in japan the aristo can be had with the 2JZ-GTE (3.0) while other simular models (chaser, mark II) can be had with the 1JZ-GTE (2.5). great video as always!

  15. AMD's reviews should be required viewing for anyone who wants to give an honest, well-balanced review of the products they're reviewing. While many auto reviewers, in particular, are so worried about offending the car manufacturers that their reviews end up being glorified infomercials, here's a guy who's not only reviewing a vehicle, but he also works for the company that made the vehicle yet that didn't stop him from highlighting whatever negatives that may exist in their product, which is commendable. And, guess what? That honesty makes people more inclined to get a Toyota, rather than the opposite, since most rational people would think if a shaky hood or a door that doesn't slam with a reassuring thunk are the worst things to expect from the vehicle, then that's certainly better than the horror stories we hear about other manufacturers' vehicles! Keep up the good work, AMD, and thanks!

  18. I have used this vacuum method for many years now. However, on my 2007 ES350, the rear brakes are most difficult. It would take 20 minutes to fill the container twice. Bubbles and bubbles forever. I solved the problem by applying a small bead of high vacuum silicone grease around the top of the bleeder. I get NO air bubbles, and fill the container in just a few minutes. For what all that may be worth to you.

  26. My uncle in Greece had a 82 Cressida as a Taxi in central Greece which is very mountainous. His Toyota lasted his ENTIRE CAREER!!! Almost 1 million kilometers all original except for changing the clutch 4 times and the typical maintenance. Back in those days most of the roads were DIRT in the part of Greece. Itā€™s amazing what Toyota accomplished. They even put Honda to shame.

  29. This is the exact kind of basic maintenance shop-class type video that is so beneficial to us who like to dabble in the "easy" part of car repairs. I've been warned not to manually move the butterfly on some cars, so it's good to know that's not a problem on Toyotas. I'm thinking what would I have paid for this as a class? And then thought, if only a tiny fraction of Ahmed's viewers donated just $1 to his channel through that Patreon account, it would be a nice "thanks" to him for taking the time to do this video.

  40. Ive had the crown Signia limited w the tech package for about 3 weeks now. This replaced my 2012 Outback. Took on a road trip and put on 1100 miles. I can verify that this is a very smooth, quiet and comfortable touring car. City mpg is 40 mpg. Highway is 35mpg at 77mph. Itā€™s almost as quiet as the wifeā€™s Lexus Es300h(2022) but it does ride more plush and the seats front and back are much more comfortable in the Signia. I paid $56k otd in California. Love it so far.

I never made a bunch of hours but I treated the cars like I owned them. I have made mistakes also and paid for it.   45. $6,800 in repair cost plus vehicle down time and lost revenue. All could have been prevented by spending $1,000 - $2,000 in routine maintenence over the 5 years of use. $100 every 4-6 months for oil. Half that if you do it yourself.

By age 28, i could barely change my tires because i was a knucklehead as a young man.
