Thanks for giving us some good advice! A lot of people aren't willing to drive a $5,000 10 year old used car. I worked in automotive for years so I'm always giving car advice to friends and family. A few year old used car, with a big down payment is usually the best option. Always try for a 25% down payment! If you can't save $5,000 in a year then you probably can't afford a car payment!

Your channel has been my go-to place to find all my personal finance and money making/saving tips. You deserve all the success you have, Humph! šŖš»

I loved this video! I'm starting with your example portfolio and trying to grow from there. Started with just $20 but I'm excited to build it up bit by bit!

Something almost identical to the "meta-verse" has already existed for DECADES, it just isn't mainstream. Look into Second Life, it's not only exactly what they aim for but has already had an in game to real life currency exchange. Used to play in high-school.

Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.

You donāt need to change your oil every 3,000 miles, 5,000 miles is fine unless you drive like a maniac and do lots of city driving
46
Wow! This is like the movies āFree Guyā and āReady Player Oneā! Thanks Humphrey for explaining things so simply :)

Opened my Roth IRA at the start of this year (confidently because of how much I've learned from this channel) and this was a great vid with a lot of helpful reminders and knowledge. Thanks so much Humphrey!
46
Brilliant stuff Humphrey, remember me when you're at 1 million subscribers!
45
Thank you Humphrey you opened my brains to understanding Candano in a simple way. I think I have enough knowledge to impress my girl friend.

One huge difference between the two I found is dealing with estate matters when a Vanguard customer or a Fidelity customer passes away. Vanguard is MUCH better. Even with joint accounts, Fidelity is impossible. Vanguard had all business taken care of within a week. With Fidelity, is has been months, and still no end in sight. If you care about your heirs, stick with Vanguard.

Legendary video!

I just wanted to say that youāre really doing an amazing thing by promoting investing and teaching young people about finance. Youāre making peoples lives better!
39
Iām 22, was able to go through college with a couple of scholarships so no student debt here thank god. Iāve just started investing I stocks and have a $430 portfolio, a couple hundred dollars in emergency savings, and still have some in my checking account to cover bills and my car payment. I thought I was doing horrible but your video made me feel better š
39
I like that it's a short video that's quite easy to digest, even for a newbie. Makes investing less intimidating!
39
Iām 13 and have about $1200 in stocks! Thanks for all the advice! I love finance and you inspired me to make my own channel about finance, stocks, Entrepreneurship, later real estate, and more! Thank you
39
Itās almost like we wouldnāt have this issue if we made stuff here
38
You are 38? You look amazing my guy! Im 24 and bald š I thought you were like 32 at most š¤·āāļø

I agree, I don't think this should affect BTC prices, but I'm sure it will. I think one of the biggest problems plaguing crypto has been blind investing, which will most likely happen with this. I imagine many will jump in to the new ETFs without realizing that they are futures.
37
My main trick to make transportation really cheap is to live close to where I work. I like myself and my time too much to have a travel distance that couldn't reasonably be covered on a bicycle.
37
These videos are awesome! Iām a student and this channel is so helpful in building my financial literacy and helping me get myself in a better place even before I graduate.
37
Thought you were talking about an OnlyFans when you mentioned selling photos online lol
37
Very well put together videos. Liked and subbed. I love how organized you are and how detailed the description is! Super helpful man thanks a bunch
37
Every time he says "Dividend" take a shot 2 minutes later: Completely drunk
36
Yes Iām excited for this since I donāt really understand
36
The power of social media!!
36
Perfect timing, I was looking to find some ETFs with much more growth potential. Always look forward to your suggestions!
36
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Do the video with psychics and see how their investments do compared to the s&p 500. This is such a unique concept that I would actually love to see! All the best man
35
Thanks for the info, I've been meaning to open a Roth IRA but never knew where to begin. Just opened one with Wealthfront. Thanks so much!
35
Buy a Honda or a Toyota car. They last forever.
35
Good timing, just looking into opening a Roth IRA!

Several of the commenters here have left good points about the detailed comparisons of things from 30 or 40 years ago versus now. Technology has changed drastically with automobiles. I think the two biggest factors of many that contribute to this problem are 1)college tuition costs (due to further government involvement) and 2) the laws of purchasing power of the US dollar. In fact, I would say that loss of purchasing power combined with stagnant wages since the early 1980s is the principal factor.

I've said something like this would happen when I first experienced virtual reality about seven years ago and then playing Detroit Become Human four years ago. It's definitely awesome to see my "childhood ideas" coming to life. Maybe I am just speaking from bias, but I can definitely see this becoming a thing with the rise of Cryptocurrencies and NFT's. I'm currently writing a paper about the future š .
34
Iām 18 years old and I am literally about to open my IRA/rIRA. Thank you as usually Humphrey š¤āļøāļø

Hope whoever is reading this accomplishes financial FREEDOM, wealth, and is blessed with true happiness!
33
Yes compare PokƩmon cards and Bitcoin
33
While not retaining a biased opinion about Shiba, you covered a lot of great facts in regards to the coin. I think with due time though, this coin will scratch some head's and ultimately hit the one cent dream. I'm Shiba strong, and I respect your aspects on the community. You gained a subscriber. Thank you!
33
I love how you helped me see a different way of seeing the wealth of Elon Musk
33
This video was super informative! Seeing you on TikTok and following other financial/business professional accounts, I am beginning to build my way to āfinancial freedomā. Thank you for clarifying the Index fund and mutual fund. I almost considered putting my money into a mutual fund, but after learning how high fees could be, Iām just going to opt for an index fund.
32
Glad you talked about how the ETFs actually work! Good stuff
32
DUDE. That intro is absolutely FIREEE š„š„š„š„
32
Great list, Humphreyāparticularly appreciate the explanation of the 20-4-10 rule!
31
Comparison is the thief of joy!
31
Love dividend investments. Yeah they arenāt much at the start, but as your portfolio grows, the get larger!
31
I've watched A LOT of dividend "information" videos in the past couple weeks and this was by far the most informative
31
Sadly, it has already started to crash. I'm confident that the coin will pump when Robinhood lists it though, which is the reason I am still holding the coin. 12 million strong
31
The problem with only putting away 10% of the average salary is that in 2060 it's doubtful a mere million will be enough to retire on.
31
i am FINALLY switching from watching you on tiktok to YT so thank u for these longer vids
31
I believe SaaS stands for software as a service. Great vid overall!
31
Great video, covering a great concept! Credit cards certainly have their perks, and building credit is important, but knowing how to use them to avoid the pitfalls is critical. Nice!
