I just turned 20, i have about $15k in my tfsa, $2.5k in rrsp, and have an emergency savings fund of $5k. I am a first year plumbing apprentice and for all the young adults that are still unsure what they would like to do, I would highly recommend getting into the trades. Not only do you get to do the job you were hired for, but you get to see what other trades do and maybe you'd want to try that instead!

Hi Humphrey, you should do a video on the 2008 financial crisis. Like causes, implications, and fixes! Another idea would be about how unversities structure their investment portfolios (idk if this is public info but would certainly be interesting). I am a stanford student and have you see your instas from our campus! Great video!

Thank you for the content. Thank you, this will help me a lot when I'll be buying Slotie NFTs on ETH!

Is there any chance you can do a video explaining the investing terms are and what they mean and the target we should look to eg :- P/E ratio, div yield, payout ratio, market cap, EPS. Please

Be fearful when everyone is greedy, be greedy when everyone is fearful- warren buffet. I am fearful at the moment

29 and overwhelmed with terminology. Thank you for explaining things because i honestly was going to give up and just build on my savings which is great but the pressure of investing is always over my head....quick question can you withdraw what you put in? Not what you earned...so if things happen and I need my money back can I get it?

I hope the timestamps in the description aren't going away! Also, sick graphics in this one šŖ

Bought a ā09 Corolla with 28k miles in 2021 for 10k .. best decision Iāve ever made. When I think of work and the commute I think about the distance, amount of money Iāll be spending on gas, plus the amount of time Iāll spend in traffic. I canāt see myself spending more than an hour stuck in traffic going to and from work. Thatās 2 hours on top of my 8 hour shift š Iām currently on the job hunt in Los Angeles as a recent finance graduate in my 30s and itās rough!

I can't wait for VR and AR to fully take off. I could totally see people leaving their NFTs in an irl location so others can see it on their phones or AR glasses. Actually, this kinda reminds me of graffiti š. Still pretty cool tho

Coffee was a big one for me. Latteās add up, a couple monthās worth adds up to a nice coffee machine that makes latteās that taste better than Starbucks anyway. I notice a lot of people eating out and tipping 20% 2-3 times a week. I think itās excessive. Save up for date nights and stick to a budget. You can still have drinks with friends! Just go to the grocery store, buy a case of beer and invite them over. Eventually you can even make some of those fancy cocktails yourself.

I had a general idea of what was going on reading through different articles and stuff but this was definitely the best explanation Iāve gotten by far

Hey Humphrey, question. I currently have a Roth 401k at work (i invest 7% of my wages towards it with a 5% being matched by my employer) and i also have a separate roth IRA and traditional IRA with vanguard. Currently contributing to my roth IRA with vanguard and i transferred money form a previous IRA account into my traditional IRA account but not currently contributing to it. What do you think of this?
14
Clarifying question: it seems like you are using āsaved upā and ānet worthā interchangeably. When I hear saved up I think money in the bank (liquid). When I hear net worth I think all assets minus liabilities. When you say 5 to 6 times your salary saved up are you talking about liquid cash saved up or just your total net worth. Just asking because I have some investment properties that I owe mortgages on but have increased a lot in value over the past 5 years.

I did a video on this yesterday. Youāll inevitably be called a hater by some crypto Bros pumping meme scam coins

I love seeing peopleās stories and learning about managing finances. Iām 24, graduated 2 years ago debt free, became a homeowner this year and have about 40k equity so far. 20k portfolio between 401k, brokerage, crypto, and individual stocks. And about 4k liquid (currently rebuilding my emergency fund) . My goal is to hit a 6-figure net worth soon :) everyone is so inspiring!
