  37. As a US Army Veteran I dont care about vehicles being destroyed in combat operations. I care if the soldiers survived, lessons are learned and the units are still combat ready. Equipment is there to aide warfighters, part of the job is taking the HEAT so Grunts dont have to. "We" can build more vehicles BUT replacing a trained, motivated and experienced soldier is fkn hard.

  44. Being a student of history I try to remember that in both World War 1 and 2 that at around the two year mark it was not clear whether the 'good guys' would win. In fact in 1941-42 it looked bad for the allies. No one would have bet on their victory at that point. Someone is going to tell me the the Soviet Union/Russia won World War 2. I would say they were one of 'winners', but without constant pressure from the U.S and U.K in the form of strategic bombing and combat in North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic then the Axis could have concentrated all their effort on the USSR and crushed them. Then we have lend-lease and the Arctic convoy effort too. Russia is not the Soviet Union. It is rapidly eroding its Soviet Stock-pile and its economy is rapidly sliding toward a crisis. The political situation in the U.S looks bad, but the chances of the Republicans winning the 2024 election look increasingly slim with Donald Trump as their candidate. I think failing to support Ukraine is yet another unpopular policy choice , alongside trying to ban abortion and others. I hope Biden and the Democrats will follow the lead set by FDR and keep supporting Ukraine as they did the UK even if it takes covert arms transfers via Canada as they did in WW2. This is Ukraine's 'darkest hour' but I feel Germany, the UK and other countries will try to setup the assistance. To quote Churchill, "Keep buggering on..."
