  4. I figured this out by accident when I did a (small) motorcycle build and wanted to see how tight I could make the steering stem to act as a ghetto "steering stabilizer". I tightened the steering stem to the point where it required a fair amount of force to turn the bars, and I almost fell off the bike when I let the clutch out. It was un-rideable. I had always thought gyroscopic procession was why the bike stayed stable, and immediately realized it was the abilty to constantly re-correct that keeps you from falling over. Would you consider doing a video on the mechanics of Trials bike riders?

An aircraft mechanic here, One of the many reasons we pump in dry air and reduce moisture content in the aircraft cabin is because water molecules present in the air will freeze into small ice blocks at high altitude which will damage a lot of the pneumatic system components including important pressure regulating valves and possibly block filters leading to blockages.

  7. I love these math videos because its so weirdly satisfying when you introduce another famous mathematician, and I'm like, "My man Euler was in this???". Its the same kind of excitement as the portal scene in Avengers endgame.

  11. Don’t ever go back making “television”. This is so much better. A great story from beginning to end with a spectacular entry of the main character. No spoilers, no previews. YouTube at its best. TV will never reach this level of storytelling. Hats off to your illustrator too.

The craft in my family has been continued up to the end of Edo era and no one is a blacksmith anymore, but my family had swords inherited from our ancestors. Thank you very much for your appreciation for the art of sword making in Japan. I enjoyed this video more than any other videos of yours since I found you 9-10 years ago. I've watched every single one of them since then.

  43. It's amazing that Theo Jansen didn't have computer education. He invented the names for his device components himself. One Japanese reporter once pointed that a component was a NAND gate, but he said he named it LIAR SWITCH because it went the inverse of the input.

  50. When I was doing research in computer graphics more than 10 years ago, I came up with an algorithm to simulate rigid body mechanisms with thousands of joints efficiently. However, initially I had trouble getting my paper through peer-review, partly because most of my examples were rather far-fetched and contrived. Theo Jansen's Strandbeest turned out to be the perfect scalable, real-world example to demonstrate the advantages of my method and the paper got accepted. So I'm really grateful that he published the "genetic code" of his genius walking machines. Also thanks for the great video :)
