Many of the ‘techniques’ that help overcome the algorithm, like clickbait titles, dramatic often angry or fearful facial expressions in the thumbnail, and making videos about the biggest drama of the day, ie Will Smith slap, Gabby Perdito etc, may help channels grow fast, but for all the wrong reasons. What I like about this channel are many of the qualities the algorithm does not seem to promote. Great production and content, interesting topics, honest video titles that are actually relevant to the video, and two awesome hosts. If it weren’t for channels like WF, I’d likely leave YouTube all together.

  7. I’m a veteran, I can for sure tell you, the kid that left for the army back in 07 wasn’t the same kid to come home in 2011. They are quick to send us to war but slow to help us. Going to the VA with ptsd, hearing issues, and back problems, they like to act like I’m a beggar and I did this stuff to my self. Keep doing what your doing aj, I’m just a no body from Philly who was willing to fight for his country. All vets stay frosty out there

  9. Here I am, re-watching all of The Why Files again. I struggle with severe depression and panic disorder, and for whatever reason this channel is in my top 10 channels for comfort on really rough days. I don't understand the algorithm, because this channel should be at 100k + subs, EASILY (much more, honestly.) Regardless, I am hugely grateful to AJ and Hecklefish, you two make existing just a smidge easier ;)

There's basically no other YouTube channel that I'll consistently watch 30 minute videos from and stay extremely intrigued the whole way through. The amount of anticipation I have for each video is unlike any other! The quality of these videos, the research you put in is beautifully done. This has grown to be my favorite channel.   34. It happened. I am a pathologist, I am Brazilian but live in the US. My dad is a well known pathologist in Brazil. An autopsy was done. The pathologist who was involved was well known to my dad. Although the pathologist spoke, at the end . My now deceased dad said was “it will all be known in time” . They were aliens. As a U.S. trained Pathologist, I suspect this was an advanced alien being who evolve d in a planet with Nitrogen, urea and therefore amonia based metabolism. Many microorganisms manage to live in such an environment extracting energy in know chemical pathways. These beings evolved in that environment and are much more advanced than we are. How could they have survived for some time in our atmosphere? Well our atmosphere is made mostly of Nitrogen well over 70% , Oxygen is only 21% the rest is a mixture of “noble gases”. As to why they had an oily skin… I have no idea.

  37. I'm a combat veteran. The US government operates as if the Geneva convention doesn't apply to them. It's understood by military members that if the US gets caught breaking Geneva Convention, everyone who passed that order down will pretend like they didn't know it was happening. The pilot, prison guard, spy, etc who followed that order will be fried by the system. Everyone else up the chain will get promotions. It's a messed up system. Then the veterans come home, have time to think about what they did overseas, and start to realize all the ways they have damaged other human beings and torn apart families, just to make politicians and their buddies richer. It's F'd up
