Obviously the ruins of a missile silo. Most likely used during the Finno-Korean Hyperwar.

As a Sardinian, I thank you immensely for making a video about our island.

I visited Sardinia several times and find surprising that the nuragic civilization is so little know outside of Italy, the nuraghi are truly impressive and there are so many of them, so one could picture that society with so many different lords each ruling from his stone fortress, a bit like the feudal lords of the middle ages. The Romans and before them the carthaginians ruled the coastal areas but the rugged interior remained indipendent for a long time.

Sardinia is without a doubt one of the most intriguing places in Europe. It is also one of the places with the most ancient gene pool of the original inhabitants of Europe, akin to Ötzi. Yet for some reason it seems to be one of the least researched. Also the connection with 'gods' is intriguing. Were they actually real human beings that needed to be remembered?

I remember seeing these guys in a Rome 2 Total War campaign and kind of wondering about them since I had never heard of them. I think the game took a few liberties based on Giants of Mont'e Prama, so its nice to hear about some of the historic sources behind them.

so cool, a settlement before agriculture

I’d love seeing a video on the Balearic Islands as well. Also, can we get a video on the manpower issues of the Diadochi States?
37
In the La Brea Tar Pits there is only one human skeleton found from 10,000 years ago and its believed her corpse was dumped there.

Nice! Silver play button inbound!

Almost midnight here and there is a new Historian's craft video? Sleeping has to wait.

By the way historian, could you do a video on the history of this civilization?

Mike - top notch video as usual. I really appreciate the channel’s movement between large, sweeping topics and much more focused niche archaeological sites whose findings can then be extrapolated onto larger issues.

Ty for the video! Really interesting 👍

That is a question I never thought I'd want an answer so bad

It felt good to hit the Like button and take it from 999 to 1,000. Well deserved as always!

The Romans and Greeks may have conceptualized the past the way Herodotus described the Ages. To them, what we call the Greek myths were actually history: Herakles had been real, Helen of Troy had been real, the cyclopes (aka. Saturnians) had built the polygonal walls... After all Julius Caesar was a son of Jupiter, as confirmed by the Senate, and so on. To them it was real.

I would love to see an in depth video on the Sassanian Gorgan wall . Fascinating, and my understanding is that the Romans helped finance it as well.

Oh yeah first one again!!!

Fantastic video. Personally, I like the Sandstorm theory, where somebody played Sandstorm by Darude, the soldiers had a rave and all died from a bad batch of ecstasy.

i believe in the hills were wild/rebellious to the romans for hundreds of years, but the romans were able to hire sard slingers, famous for being some of the best in the MED/worlds and slingers were mainly from hills to kill wolves/wild dogs but another animals is crows/ravens that prey on lambs. so that ment roman was able to hire on mass slingers from the rebellious area/hills,.. i think reading they'ed hire regiments of SARD slingers unless slingering was part of their culture where everyone trained/did it. so hiring was easyier

Clearly the entire army, baggage train and animals and all, was kidnapped by aliens in UFOs. The "proof"? They vanished without a trace. It's the only reasonable explanation!
