  9. I know that most corporate jobs are bs, and they cut the important low paid jobs all the time, and reduce the benefits and pay of people that actually do the work. It's infuriating... I work at a start up, so we don't have useless jobs here. Maybe it will happen once we grow.

  11. Great video. I was a trolley pusher for a while and treated like dirt. Without me you would have nothing to put your groceries in. At least I could tell myself I was being useful though. I dread the day I might end up in a worthless job.

  12. The MAJOR thing missing from this video is the toxicity in bs jobs. The people there are on constant anxiety and high alert that the game might be over on any day. So they try to throw their colleagues under the bus and the office becomes like game of thrones.

  20. How much of our culture today immeditaly disappears when you take money out of the equasion? Oh well, about 97%! :D But, if you really look at it, about 2% only, because our culture, i.e. the past 5000 years, is what culture is, and what everything is built upon. And it doesn't disappear, thankfully.

  22. very powerful video. Just another to add to the list of reasons of why life feels like a simulation. Everything that surrounds us is fueled by capitalism. Be it for some forms of for profit art, ads, and inevitably relationships with the rise of AI companions. I truly believe this, combined with the undertones of the destructions of 3rd places is why humans feel so lonely more than ever. We’re hyper isolated and nothing is beneficially made anymore to bring us together or improve quality of life unless it has a profit incentive.

  23. Dude, I appreciate the content. Got me thinking about the bartering concept. But would advise you not mock the ones that disagree with you (not saying you can't respond to criticism / divergent opinion. Just avoid mocking language. Eg. get a trophy if you find something etc.). I understand you are trying to be engaging in the lines of 'any publicity is good' but people are more callous than they appear (and their actions can influence the algo).

  28. In studying his work decades ago, I concluded that Marx was really the first consulting analyst (that I'm aware of). And as a retired consulting analyst, I think his work is still some of the finest ever done. We would all do well, however, to always keep in mind that this man was still the product of his environment (another completely brand new idea in his time), and some of that 19th century BS is present. Almost everything he thought he knew about evolution, both physical and social, was off the mark, and science was still mostly in the realm of wishful thinking combined with religious fantasy. Kudos for taking this on. You are the future and will have to deal with, and live in the mess that stupid and evil combined to create. An idea for the future: Look into Edward Bernays. I think you'll find his work, its results, and the fact that we live in the results of almost a century of focused development with an unlimited budget, fascinating and terrifying. Really glad YouTube decided to show me your channel.

  30. Being a nurse during lockdown (and a newly graduated one at that!) was a very very shit job indeed. It was so different to the point where I almost feel alienated when people talk about how 'weird' the lockdown was. Like, I can't possibly express my feelings on them in a way that 95% of the population can really understand.

  36. I literally had an "empty bucket" duty at one of my old jobs. The store had dehumidifiers and the owner chose to have us empty buckets every couple hours rather than pay like $20 for tubing that would route it directly to a drain.

  40. I feel like a lot of BS jobs are the result of unaccounted free floating money. Like you know how rich people don't really have the same relationship to money as us normal folk do? Spending a million here and there is less to them, than spending ten bucks would be for us. And I think there's something similar with big companies. There's a lot of money floating around, and the people spending it are probably often not fully responsible for how it's spent, as long as it can be somewhat justified, and hiring people who do stuff is a good justification, usually.

  48. I relate a lot with the point of people not understanding how bad it is to have a job which demands almost nothing of you. I have a job in which, by it's nature, sometimes i do nothing for weeks at a time. Every day i sit in front of a screen, log on, and just wait. I watch documentaries, read, write, play video games, walk around the house, anything to keep me entertained, but i can't go outside or do anything else, because at any moment someone might ask something from me and i have to be always on call. It's boring, lonely, demoralizing, contradictorily stressful, and i live in constant fear that someone higher up finally realizing I'm doing nothing and cutting me off, and despite everything, i still need the job. When i talk about it with my family and my girlfriend they simply dont understand it, i get hit with the "i wish i could get paid to sit around and do nothing," and i dont blame them, they've always had stressful, back braking jobs, but still, you really need to have a true bullshit job like mine to truly understand it.
