  3. Hi Mark , the recent news that russia is exchanging chickpeas and lentils for tangerines,potatoes and rice, with Pakistan, would back up your assertions about the russian economy. Countries only resort to barter for trade when no one will take their money.

  14. It is crazy that the only thing that counts to become part of the new American government is blind loyalty to the person Trump (those are absolutely not the best people). That criterion of blind loyalty towards the leader is something you normally see in dictatorships and maffia kind of organizations.

  16. it’s funny your title to this video made me think. I’ve always compared the Russian society to the Klingon society in Star Trek. They both are based around warfare. Now I know I’m gonna hear a lot of blow back saying that the Russian society is not based around warfare but if you look at their history, it is! If you look at the propaganda coming out of Russia, right now, it’s horrendous! They are relishing in warfare, and they openly talk about how the brutality needs to be ratcheted up to make there opponents succumb, rather then down. There are no state sponsored reporters who are reporting or are even horrified of the war crimes happening by there own soldiers. For example, when the Children’s Hospital in Ukraine was hit by a Russian missile and it looked very intentional. They seem very KLINGON!

Just recently here in Austraila, the government had to introduced legislation to end a russian lease on land, on which they planned to build a new embassy, just 400 metres from our Parliament House, after intelligence agencies warned the location was a risk to national security. Russia then accused Australia of Russophobic hysteria 🤣

  38. I remember the Kursk sub. after it sank ... I remember service men in the sub survived for several days at the bottom of the ocean banging morse code on the hull of the ship, some of the Nordic countries tried to send rescue subs to save the crew but Putout wouldn't let them. I think like 3 days later, he allowed a rescue to happen, but everyone was dead by then. Weird, kind of like the SMO in Ukraine.

  41. this was a beautiful video, thank you Mark. BTW, I'm a language enthusiast, speak Polish, Russian and Ukrainian and have a keen interest in etymology. What you said about the meaning of Ukraine is 100% correct, and it's refreshing hearing a westener not repeating russian imperial propaganda. The name Ukraine predates by hundred of years the russian empire (as well as the Polish commonwealth).
