  17. One of the things The Economist said in that article was Russia is spending it's National Wealth Fund to create a booming economy and that it will not run out for another five years. If its really true that Russia's pockets are that deep maybe it can go on not feeling the negatives of the war. But most other sources I've read say it will run out of The National Wealth in one or two years.

Росіяни готові їсти хліб та воду аби лиш були гроші на загарбницьку війну. Мабуть, це те що більшість людей з заходу не розуміє говорячи про стан економічно-соціольної компоненти цієї держави. Додатково, російська держава ще навіть не торкалася персональних збережень своїх громадян (що частково привело до розвалу радянського союзу в минулому) та набитих грошима живих гаманців, олігархів путіна. A Russian student interviewed on an English language Russian in the street type channel when asked why there were few great achievements in Russia’s economy said, because if you create something successful, men will come from the government and take it from you, so why do anything. One thing that is very telling is when the two anti-Putin Russian groups fighting out of Ukraine attack inside of Russia, they will often not even go after military units, but send missiles into the towns to target the FSB offices. They know the military is this large dysfunctional force and know who really runs things. Hit these and people lose their fear.

  27. Konstantin has a video on why he left the Orthodox Church. Right after he was baptized as an infant, his parents began to be persecuted. As it turned out, the remote rural priest who baptized him was a KGB agent who reported his parents to the authorities for having him baptized. There is no question that he is a Christian, however, just not an Orthodox one.

  49. Hi Mark, I really appreciate your talks. I'm in Tallahassee, just a few hours west of you when you're stateside. I was an English teacher in Prague in early 1991, so I saw up close what it was like after 35+ years under Soviet rule. I've been back twice since, 2010 and 2013, and was so impressed with the transformation that I've been trying to move back over there ever since. While you're there, it would be great if you could do a little piece about the general sentiment of the Poles and how fearful they are of a Russian invasion sometime down the line if they prevail in Ukraine. I know the Polish government is ramping up their military and not effing around. I know too many Trump/Putin supporters over here that insist there's no such threat (despite similar concerns across Europe, from the Baltics and beyond). Thanks!
