Gas supply to the European Union was already stopped at January 1st when Kiev cut off Hungary from Russian gas - otherwise this special operation would never had occurred as demonstrated by the continuation of the Yamal/Jagal pipeline through a belligerent Poland .
Even taking the Sudzha gas metering/compressor station of the UrengoyβPomaryβUzhhorod pipeline - again funded by us Germans in 1984 - during a Kursk incursion in August 2024 made only sense if this strategic target is leveraged in some way (Radio Free Europe: "Is this a strategic shift in the war ?") - much later of the common, unrealistic talk of an intended 'reaching the Kursk nuclear power plant', I had speculated to that end, once I noticed it (e.g. pondering the technical possibility of of triggering a cascade of explosions through the entire pipeline until the shutdown of segments, deep in the Kursk oblast), now see what the 'Ukrainian civilization' managed to achieve...
That the breakthrough of a mere battalion of infantry would largely collapse all forward salients demonstrates the flimsiness of the entire incursion: no operational width that could have prevented the forming of a pocket at (failed to reach the river banks at Koronevo and securing Snagost and Victorovka), no operational depth of manpower and equipment that could sustain even mere 6 months of attrition (and inflicting at least twice the damage in preparation of negotiations).
As all things NATO, the Kursk incursion was another Psychological Warfare operation, photo-ops, headlines and podcasts that frame Galician martial prowess, but shift the Correlation of conventional Forces in the European Theater not even by an inch, back into US/UK and EU favor.
If only the state of affairs were exploited with an iron fist, instead of forty years of 'diplomatic soap opera' - barring any chance of a repetition for the next 100 years...
