I'm a 57 year old woman, recovering from a hip replacement. I work in a call centre, 12 hour shifts, minimum wage. I get paid on the 26th of each month. My rent comes out on the 27th, then all the bills are direct debit on the 1st of the month...after which I am left with between £125-150 to last until the 26th of next month. I hate my life, despise it, but until my health improves, I see no way out. 10 years ago, I was ok, could get along, a bit better than now, even have weekends away. Now I can't even afford a damned haircut. But I'm supposed to smile and be grateful for the smallest of things when all I want to do is cry each day.

I retired at 54, and honestly? I wish I’d done it sooner. The 9-to-5 grind stole my time, energy, and freedom—all for a paycheck that barely scratched the surface. If you're in your late 30s or early 40s, start saving for FIRE—Financial Independence, Retire Early—right now. If you’re in your 50s, it’s not too late. Invest smartly, break free, and stop letting a job define your life. I rode market trends, like the Trump Effect, and it made me millions. The key? Focus. Consistency. And making financial freedom your #1 priority.

Mate life is hard. I feel your pain. My rent plus electric and gas bills are killing me. Single dad, work as much as i can and barely scrape by. But, i dont know where you live but if you have kids, just take them to the countryside. Drive out, take some fucking ham sandwiches, and run around. Ive being going to dartmoor, lucky enough to have moved nearby. And its great and cheap to just get some fresh air.
The stress of life is too much, my daughter hates school, they are on my case. You, we, have to look after ourselves in order to take care of our families. But they dont make it easy.
Fair play to you for making the video brother. I wish you all the best.

Growing up in the 90s was amazing and it seems like forever away, the world was slower, people enjoyed things around them and i remember my family being friends with surrounding neighbours. Now im grown up with my own family, things just seem like everything is moving at a million miles an hour, neighbours don't talk, they fight over parking and bin bags lol. People are just locked to their screens now, full time. I miss the days of pogs, pokemon, playing until the lights come on, kids these days grow up too fast, they seem to not have the chance to be kids it seems.

Things are really messed up now. The sad thing is it never used to be this way. When I was growing up, only one parent worked, we ate steaks, and my parents bought a 4 bedroom house for $25,000 (which, at the time, was about 2 or 3 times yearly earnings). They paid off that house in 5 years. Someone needs to step up to the plate and figure out how/why it has all gone so wrong, and come up with a plan on how we can really fix things. Things have gone down the drain for average hard working people, and it really shouldn't be this way.
Anyway, you sound like a damn good father - try to keep your chin up, no matter what happens.

A challenge from a friendly stranger…
Make some minor adjustments, to find yourself £10 of your weekly wage. Withdraw it in cash, and every week physically add the new £10 to a bundle of £10’s. Obsess about adding next weeks £10, and take pride in watching it grow.
Use it as content for the channel if you like. But this will psychologically mean that every week you are better off than the previous. It’s not much, but it’s progress. It’ll help a saving habit form, then one day you’ll have a grand in your hand.
Before people shout me down in the comments, I know digital cash makes interest. But when your starting out, physically holding, counting and feeling a bundle of cash grow will help form a healthy saving habit. Also if you can’t do £10, do £5 etc. You get the picture.
I’ve subscribed to the vent channel, good luck in everything you do 🍀

Saw your first vid and i totally feel for you, tough for so many at the moment, especially when you have a family, i'm 4 years older but no kids thank god, i'd get out of this country in a heartbeat if i could, i know there are plenty more worse off but lets be honest, this country is a depressing place to be unless you are one of those getting lots of freebies. Hope things get better for you and your family, just keep aiming higher pal. I'm a new sub so will listen to what you have to say, don't though get disheartened with low view count, hard to make it on YT, early days.

Jesus said, I am the light of the world. Right now the world is sitting in darkness, It is written God said let there be light and that light is the light of men. Jesus is THAT LIGHT. He is the very essence of the human spirit of which satan has corrupted, mutating the human soul. We are called the captives in the bible. Jesus said I have come to set the captives free. He is available right now. In his word, he will come to those who seek him, he is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus said, seek me and you shall find me. I am the door, Come unto me all who are heavy laden I will give you rest. He is real, GOD is spirit and through Christ Jesus, we are renewed as it where from the beginning. Let there be light. The light of men. He is not religion, religion is of the devil. He is the very being of man. Fear not, I am with you, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Because he can't leave you his spirit is in MAN. Repentance is the transformation of GOD IN MAN. Jesus said, If I be lifted up, I will call ALL man unto me. He is the prince of peace. Return to your first love, who is GOD of which the world has forgotten. Humanity has amnesia and has lost their way by manipulation of the mind. The light has already come. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Religion has divided, it is a control system. Jesus is not religion, he is life itself. The goodness and grace of GOD in ALL. The spirit of God is the power of God to fight all evil Jesus said, I have come to set the captive free. He is the hope of the world and the light that shines in the darkness. YOU ARE LOVED and NOT FORGOTTEN. God Bless.

Many of us have gotten into alcohol drinking to excess, at a specific period in our lives.
Usually when they are young but, ofyen at extremely challenging periods in life.
Like yourself, we come to a point where we realise that this becomes destructive for loved ones and ourselves.
Not exploring those difficult issues and not talking, is often a reason that this happens.
Men often find this sorts of communication difficult.
Many women (not all) find this easier but, women have troubles too. We must be fair with our women folk and work through difficult times together. I for one, have not always followed this advice and I regret that earnestly.
You have taken the step of making your YouTube channel. This is a huge step towards exploring and working through internal issues. It also focuses efforts positively and gives a sense of achievement.
Someone once asked me, during my lowest and most fatigued phase. "Are you tired or, are you uninspired?"
I realised that being uninspired lessens motivation and that makes me tired.
Keep working with the channel. Maybe explore other platforms.
My background is in creativity. Creativity in various forms. The great thing about making or building something is that it can be it's own reward. Once that rewarding feeling comes, it it often possible for it to bring the bonus of financial reward and bringing helpful people into your life, in unexpected ways.
This is no accident of fate. It is the nature of process. One thing often builds upon something else that was worked on earlier.
Whilst, there are no guarantees, this is the way life works in principle.
You did not initially expect many viewers for your YouTube work. Now, looking back, you can see that you have achieved much more than you had originally thought possible.
It starts with a thought then, an action with no idea of what might happen next.
Then, of course, greater confidence offers other possibilities for the grounded individual.
Another very insightful video.

I was born in 1971 and the 70's, 80's and 90's were the BEST, life was so much better and carefree back then, no mobiles and internet, I remember coming back from school watching Grange Hill on Telly, and then meeting my schoolfriends afterwards and having fun on our bikes and being out playing in nature and hide and seek, a bag of chips was just 28p and wrapped in newspaper, and I definitely remember much sunnier summers in the 70's and 80's and 90's, all this technology now scares me, even though I am You Tuber I have technology phobia, and I hate all these apps and AI, I feel its a form of control to keep a watch on everything we do and talk about, as soon as the millennium started I feel our freedoms have all gone downhill, thanks so much for sharing Kirky.

Funny how you were talking about the bottling up of emotions, I wrote this on another unrelated video around 2 weeks ago:
"I've been married for 8 years. 2 children and 2 step children. My wife is a few years older than me. We have our arguments and disagreements. I think part of the problem is people don't vent their frustration enough and don't talk about it and get it out in the open and clear the air. I think women are worse for this, they hold it in and let it eat away at them till they hate you. My wife knows when I'm unhappy about something and I ask for her help to resolve it. I don't hold it in and let things eat away at me as that breeds resentment I also do the same thing for her, I make sure she gets it out and says it how it is. I think that's the biggest issue. People hold onto these things and it naws away, chewing at their soul"
Talking about the issues etc is better than holding it in. As you say, it then causes more problems, you become snappy, and you said it perfectly "You don't want it to get to a boiling point". That's my entire belief. Don't let it get there. Talk, talk, talk. Obviously, if you are moaning 24/7 to your wife about how you don't like your job or your leg hurts, then maybe don't do that, but for really stressful things it's better for all people in a relationship to talk and get it out in the open.

The 90s was really good for me. Born in '84. It was a really nice mix of community and technology, before technology completely took over all of our lives. A typical weekend, we'd knock on for each other, go off and play a bit of football down the park or in the local field, work on our den up in the local forest bit, while flipping some cheap kwiksave burgers on the makeshift bbq, (mum's old metal grill plate over a fire) do some target practice with the older brothers air rifle, shooting emply tins of beans and 2% lager cans hanging from trees, then we'd generally dos about annoying the neighbours for a bit, on nice evenings neighbours would be sitting out talking with each other. Neighbouring kids would be hanging around their streets while we'd be around ours and sometimes we'd intermingle, talk to the girls, try to impress them, make them laugh, show off with our bikes ect. then into the night we'd listen to some of our latest cassette compilation albums and play some megadrive games or watch a movie on VHS. Often we'd go and rent the latest games and movies from the local rental shop and that would be our weekend nights entertainment for that week. Then back home by 10pm and generally get interrogated by mum as to why I'm covered in mud and stink of smoke lol. Good times and happy memories. I still live in the same area and I don't see any of that stuff happening anymore. No kids playing out, no neighbours talking to each other. Sad.

After one video you got 134 subs and 208 likes...and YouTube for some reason recommended it to me.
I'd say that's a pretty good start, question is - how do you intend to monopolise on that, what direction will your channel take?
You could just document your daily life, how you manage your finances, etc...might be a good direction since it's inkeeping with the content you've already put out. Will it be a rant or vent channel?
It might be interesting to see how you budget your money, the daily struggle - but there's loads of channels like that already out there and they tend to stagnate or hit a pleateau when it comes to viewers/subs, you need a plan or some direction if you want to grow to a point where this is financially rewarding for you. Be nice to know more about you, what your interests/hobbies are...
I'm 45 this year and have no kids, don't think I've been in a relationship with a woman that lasted more than 6 months! I regret not having kids occasionally, I have friends and family my age that do and I honestly do not envy them, few of my mates have said to me I'm the lucky one, I earn enough that I can save and buy nice things and they struggle a lot. I work full-time and live fairly comfortably but can't imagine how hard it'd be having kids - I can afford to be selfish and treat myself, I have a lot of interests/hobbies, but I don't have kids to look after me when I'm old like I do with my parents. Point is we all make sacrifices to some extent and this will always be the case, you have somnething I don't and I something you don't - none of us are right and nopne of us are living life "better" than the other, we are both surviving our own path - you have something nobody else can have, your wife, your kids, your good times and your hard time...that is your life, and it's worth living or you'd not care enough to improve it.
I'd argue you're not a failure at all, you've achieved more than I have with your family who love you, you've achieved more than many...but life is generally suffering interspersed with brief moments of joy and happiness. I think a lot of people tend to look at what other people have and ask why they can't have that, which is normal I suppose...you can't be them nor they you, but what is life if not survival? Life is suffering - but modern suffering is cushioned suffering compared to what the majority of humans throughout history have experienced...we are fairly privileged in many ways. We think life is harsh in 2025, and it is...but it's an improvement on 1925 or 1825. We forget what we have, get caught in the grind...sometimes you gotta touch grass, literally.
I think you need to disconnect from the modern world, go hiking, camping, take up a sport - martial arts or get into boxing...do things that are difficult but will ground you. These things are fairly cheap and good for you - we get lost in the material and want things because we're bombarded with this idea of what it means to live but it's all nonsense...you are alive, and you don't need a lot of money to enjoy or appreciate it, the UK is beautiful, take your family and explore it. Find ways to challenge yourself, strengthen your resolve, your resilience, your stamina - do things that are difficult and make you uncomfortable... discharge your energy outside of work doing things that benefit you and your loved ones, the little wins matter in the long run, living is making someone you care about smile or cry.
Anyway - you now have 135 subs and 209 likes, be nice to see what direction you take.

Read a bit about politics. The problem ive come to realise is that for a long time it's been 'short termism' in policy, because politicians have only so long to do something they focus on quick results, then because they can be voted out, they also need to keep the media happy. This then ties in with economics. Where companies report quarterly results and need to keep investors happy. Tie this in with shortening attention spans on social media, news and entertainment. As the money is in fighting to gain people's attention. All this together is creating, shallow and superficial world. Focused on low quality short term gains. Which breeds populist and sensationalist headlines as these sell quicker. And an system that rewards economies of scale which is easier to succeed at if you have money already. So Wealth accumulates at the top. The real wages and quality of life for working people are eroded. The public services we need are neglected, education, health, public transport, big problems are kicked into the long grass, like climate and immigration, poverty without public services and well paying jobs makes generarional trauma, which worsens poverty, and causes trauma related issues of mental illness, addiction and communities suffer. As fixing this requires longer term planning, the wealthy who own the media, create more sensational headlines, which blame the poor and working people, or scapegoats away from the real issues. Add into this the promotional of individualism as a solution ie we can all fix out own lives by working harder and smarter. We lose connections to our communities. Then add in the out of town shopping and supermarkets, death of the high street, closure of pubs and entertainment, lack of sleep due to continous entertainment and scrolling, more sensationlist headlines, throwaway relationships, gluttony of dating apps, envy of perfect lives promoted online. All this makes more and more for the wealthy. Quarterly returns are good. And while the economy can grow. The social economy is devastated

Here’s a great and very relevant poem !by Kipling-
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.
Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

So Many Are Struggling… What Can We Do About It?
While we may not be able to fix everything, we can make a difference in small but meaningful ways:
Support each other – A kind word, encouragement, or simply listening can go a long way.
Share knowledge – Helping others learn skills, financial wisdom, or ways to improve their situation can be life-changing.
Lead by example – Show resilience, gratitude, and a problem-solving mindset to inspire others.
Give when possible – Whether it’s time, resources, or advice, even small acts of generosity can change someone’s day.
Encourage self-reliance – While helping is great, empowering people to help themselves is even better.
Not everyone can be saved, but those who are willing to improve deserve support. What are your thoughts?

Life may feel like an endless cycle sometimes—racing from one payday to the next, carrying the weight of responsibilities. But remember, you are not defined by the numbers in your bank account or the size of your paycheck. Your worth is in the love you give, the smiles you share, and the moments you create.
It's okay to feel tired, even frustrated, but don’t let that dull your gratitude for the blessings that surround you. Think of the little victories—whether it’s a roof over your head, the laughter of loved ones, or the strength you’ve built just by persevering through tough times. Life has a way of testing us, but these challenges shape our resilience and make our triumphs even sweeter.
Take a deep breath, and remind yourself that each day is a stepping stone. You’re moving forward, even if it feels slow. And while you chase bigger dreams, don’t forget to pause and cherish the journey. The fact that you’re striving, pushing, and holding on means you’ve got a fire inside you—don’t ever let that go.
You’ve made it this far, and that’s no small feat. Believe in better days ahead, because you’ve got the strength to make them happen. 🌟 Keep going; your story isn’t finished yet.

This whole video is "man, I have a deadend job and make minimum wage, so I made a Youtube channel". Great, so you made a Youtube channel. And now what? Work is too hard so you expect free money from donations to solve your problems? Man, everyone has problems! I was like you; no proper job training, just years and years slaving away as hotel recepcionist, working nights, working weekends, barely making minimum wage. At 39, I said screw this and went back to school to get an education in IT. Successfully made it, and I've been working as IT administrator for the last seven years. You're not too old to acquire marketable skills. Youtube sobbing isn't the right way.

Well, at last you did not blame all your problems on immigrants like a lot of people in your situation seem to do. I am 65 next month and what I have learnt from my life is this. In my twenties I was married and working a job that paid me so poorly that I did not have a car, there were no holidays and shopping was just like you mentioned , with a calculator. In the company where I worked (in the late 70’s’) all the management had great salaries , company cars ( most of them Jaguars) if you were not management you were poorly paid, no benefits etc. Eventually I had enough and found another job, learned new skills and after a year I left that job for another company. At this time I bought our first home and never really looked back. In my forties I moved to mainland Europe and eventually settled in Brussels. I now have more than I ever wanted, not just financially but my life is just so much better than those times in the UK. If a company is paying you the minimum wage, get out. No one can survive on that, they are working you to death and really taking the piss. You are not a failure, you are providing for your family but you deserve more than this. Please take charge of your life, you seem like a nice guy and I wish you and your family the very best of luck.

A Resource Based Economy is the only sensible way forward because our current system is built on artificial scarcity, profit over well-being, and environmental destruction. In an RBE, we use science and technology to manage Earth's resources efficiently, ensuring abundance, sustainability, and access for all, no need for money, debt, or exploitation. It’s about using what we actually have wisely, instead of creating inequality through outdated economic models.

I get what you're saying and I agree with you. If we could all come together..... But in reality, that will never happen. You seem to be in a pit, a hole, a struggle and I'm going to be blunt. It's time to stop thinking about all your problems, and start finding and figuring out solutions! Focus your energy and thoughts on solutions, future, goals. Not the things that are bringing you down. You've made a step in the right direction with this channel. That was going to be one of my suggestions: Find something, one thing, you're good at and explode with that. This channel may be your one thing. But focus on solutions: ie. What are you doing to get yourself out of this hole? What advice do you have, that is working for you, to help your followers that are in the same boat? I'm retired from the Military, where you are not allowed to fail. So I have a positive, move forward, never quit mentality. Best thing the military ever did for me. So develope that mindset and mentality and MOVE FORWARD. Yeah, yeah, easier said than done, right? Wrong. Just do it and be positive while doing it. You will probably fail at times. You might fail a lot. But put that failure behind you and try again, or something new. Make small sacrifices. Put 5 pounds away every week, or every month to start. Something. Build! Start small, with small achievable goals, then go up from there. Anyone can do it. You have to make sacrifices and take chances. Failure isn't always bad. Failure is valuable education if you learn from it. Like I said, this channel may be your ticket. But don't stop there brother. Expand, explore, educate. Focus and push yourself beyond your comfort level. You will be successful if you want it and work for it. Work for success, not the paycheck. Because right now you're working really hard for that paycheck, but don't feel successful (from what I've seen on how you feel in your previous videos). Work on being successful and the paycheck will be your reward. Good luck to you brother. I'll continue to support this channel and your future success that I KNOW you will find.

It's called wage slavery, you are not a failure you have been tricked. School, job, wife, house, kids, car that is the plan they always had for your life. Best thing I ever did was to take my family and move into a boat, it was rented. We just posted the keys back through the door and walked away, was the first step on a better life, good luck with whatever you choose to do but do something, life's too short

It's tough in this corrupted world, for sure. We're getting more enslaved all the time, and it's all by design. If I were you, I'd get credit cards at every bank right now and rack up as many as you can to the max, buying high-potential altcoins like ICP, AXELAR, ACH, etc at these bottom low fire sale prices. By the end of this year's altcoin bull run, you'll be set. You don't have much time before altcoin season kicks off this bull run so research and act quickly. I used this strategy during the last bull run in 2021, and it worked for me. Now, I'm set up to retire after this bull run. Buy low and sell high, and then in the next bear cycle bottom, buy low again, and repeat this strategy. You'll be rich by 2029 bull run.

You're far from a failure mate. "Many men lead lives of quiet desperation", but this has never been more relevant. We are the glue that hold society and the infrastructue together. We have to be strong, but often, no one is strong for us.
I'm 43, British, and I have a first class honours degree, years of graft, but nothing to show for it. I'd be dead if it wasn't for my kids. We have to dig in, but something also needs to change, and soon.
All the best to you and your family, and thanks for "venting" about things. It means a lot.

It’s a funny coincidence because today I just got paid from YouTube. Last time I got paid in ad rev.
from YouTube was August 2024 I believe lol 😅 I’m here to thank you for sharing your thoughts and to vent! I used to feel like the biggest worthless piece of crap because I couldn’t provide a house for my gf and our son. Every time we paid rent I was angry because that was $2,000 down the fuckin drain that could’ve went towards savings for a down payment. All while home prices keep sky rocketing. So for 8+ years I worked, saved, worked and saved more and gave up on my dream of buying a house in our hometown (San Jose, CA) and started looking an hour + away. As of October 2024, we are “home owners”. It was a pretty good “high” at first but reality has sunken in and I’m feeling low again. Mortgage payments are way more expensive, my savings account is almost completely gone, we already had to make some house repairs, i crashed my car
Driving to work, my commute went from 12 mins to 1 hour and 20 minutes, I’m in a completely different county and had to switch over lots of paperwork and healthcare stuff. I’m living on the edge right now and it feels scary. One part of me is grateful to have bought this home but the other side of me has regret, it’s now our “dream home”, it’s expensive but that’s how things are now.. it’s insane lol Stay strong for your family! Making videos like this helps you and us watching!

Here to join the conversation in the uk,
Every place men meet and talk is being targeted, like the pubs and social clubs, the smoking ban, etc,
Any good comments welcome
We need to turn bring down, start to discuss and find the problem, think and change things with the solution, there is nothing that cannot be solved in this arena, voting for a certain new party for example,
Have a goal, thats what you need, adjust as time goes on if needed,
Someone said bartering is a good thing to do, connect with farmers, they are our root, every society starts there,
Godbless,

Kirky, just Stumbled upon Your new channel. I Gave a Thumbs Up like and I Subscribed. I see You only started it Four Days ago, Be Encouraged, I see You already have nearly THREE THOUSAND Subscribers And 43 THOUSAND Views for this Video. Yes, I Started My Channel, I actually have Three Different Channels, for Three Different things, And as You mentioned, Some have had a YouTube Channel for Years and they hardly have Any Views or Subscribers. Thats my Case, I started this channel probably approx 12 Years ago with little or next to no views or subscribers on Any of my vids or channels.
Ive been where Youre at more or less, working job to job, sometimes 6 days and 60 hours per week with Very Poor Pay to say the least. I was mostly Homeless for nearly 20 Years during those times, broke busted disgusted, was Only EXISTING, Not Living, Not thriving. Im 66 Years of Age now. But I Thank God that I finally Escaped those things. I still struggle because of certain issues though Financially it has vastly improved reasonably speaking.
Yet anyway Be Encouraged Kirky. The Lord JESUS God Bless You & Your Sir & Best Wishes Sir 🇮🇱🇰🇷🇺🇸✡⚕✝️

It's so relatable and you're not alone. As a woman people think I have it easy, but I work manual labor full-time. Luckily I never wanted kids because I'd never be able to afford them. When you're consumed with survival it feels impossible to escape it, because escaping requires even more energy that you don't have.
We are told to grind and work and hustle, but it feels like all the hustling and climbing in the world doesn't matter because society catches up to you, or health catches up to you, inflation catches up to you. We deserve more on this earth for all we do as the working class, when the high class lives a life of carelessness and freedom.
I'm trying to save to build a small cabin, I spent all my savings on a very small plot of land, the permits to build on it cost $1000 dollars. Let alone paying for the work to meet code. I'm hustling to build a cabin the size of some people's bedrooms, with no toilet or running water, and a woodstove. I'm working so much just for a chance at something of my own, that still will be bare bones survival and hardly better than camping. But it will be mine.
For now I am stuck in the cycle of saving as I'm too poor for a loan ironically, as prices continue to go up as my wage stays the same. There is no more opportunity for me unless I go to school, which costs money I don't have, and energy I can barely muster.
Thanks for sharing. Vent.

We are all losers for allowing this. If we work 6 days a week, wouldn't it be logical to be able to live NORMALLY and not just pay bills and food. No, I'm not talking about having A LOT OF MONEY, but that you can go on a trip with your family once a year, that you can have YOUR OWN HOME and that you can buy yourself a tracksuit you like, a car, a computer, a phone, all those basic things, NOT YACHTS AND AIRPLANE. On the other hand, rich people who do nothing are getting richer and richer every day. "Influencers" who sit at home by the phone and receive donations in one live, as much as we need to earn working for half a year. We allow this. You who are watching this, you who are reading this, you who are watching a movie now... all of us...

I'll be 50 in September brother. I have two 9 year olds, twins, boy and girl. They drive me nuts. My wife was diagnosed with epilepsy a couple years ago and started having seizures. I became the single parent, cook, cleaner, driver, the care giver, etc. She just had brain surgery 3 months ago and hasn't had a seizure yet. No matter what the outcome... we keep going. I'm glad you made the video, hang in there. All of us, every singe one of us going through something no one knows anything about. And, I've learned, if it isn't something, it's something else. Take care... subbed.

Iam in the same boat sorta. 37 single, no kids, 3yrs sober. Don’t have anything, worked my way up in the tire business the last 15yrs (unintentional) now I can’t stand tires, I had some health issues he last 2yrs that I’m getting out of. I got a semi decent inheritance from me pops passing last year. So financially I’m ok. But the cut off from socializing is what’s killing me. The depression, not having any friends, just boredom, isolation, getting to a point where I’m even acting weird around ppl instead of my old self. I’d like to meet my tribe, find me a wife, and maybe have some kids. But where to start, and what to do with the rest of my life… I’m clueless about.

No social media, no internet or computers, no cell phones (they were around but rare) we ran and played, went fishing and hunting, had bonfires. I live by a creek where me, my buds, other kids, and even my sister would play around and in all the time. There are no kids there now. It is sad. The fish, crawdads, snakes, and bullfrogs are happy though.

Hi Kirky mate, you, myself and many hard working people in the comments can really resonate with you mate. We're working ourselves into the ground and like you say, we can't even give our kids everything we want to give them nevermind being able to buy a house and it hurts because people tend to be judged on whether they own a house or not before anything else. We sit back and look at our family and we chalk ourselves up as failures and think our partners can do better etc. But you gotta remember man, showing up time and time again, consistently through all the shit that gets thrown our way, beat down, shit on, taken advantage of and still showing up is what our partners and kids will see the most over everything. I hope to see you pull through the slump and i hope things pick up, and keep venting man, we'll check in on your vents and whatever you have to show us through your videos, just keep showing up mate.

Congrats on your quick youtube success! It's really cool to see your story resonate with people the way that it has!
I'm one of the people you mentioned who it's taking every bit of 1 year to get to 1000 subs. But, I'm only at about 10% of the watch time needed to become part of the ypp.
But that is perfectly fine with me. Because, before I started this channel... fear ran my life. In some ways, it still does. But, nowhere near the way it did a year ago or more. It's not because of youtube that I don't fear like I did, though.
It's because of all the work I did on myself before I started my channel. Doing youtube is just part of the icing on the cake... if you will.
I don't share with anybody I know about my youtube channel unless it might help them. Otherwise, it's only for people who find my videos. It's only for certain people.
Are you monetized already? I pray that for your continued success🙏 and that you build the community you seek. That's why I do it, too. I take pleasure in telling my story so that it may help another soul.
God helps with a lot of my fear, and he is the one who gets all the glory for what I'm doing. God bless you for telling your story, sir. And, for sharing your journey here and including us in your story!

43 years old, 2 kids, hgv driver, I'm with you. 5am starts 5 days a week. Taxiing the kids around in my downtime. In debt, just getting by but constantly being hit with little things, £30 school bus fare, £20 on kids lunch, new school shoes, new pe trainers, everyday it's something else. 15 years ago life was affordable and I was on half what I'm on now. Remember if you wanted a cheap car to run around in you could get one for a weeks wage now you're getting a 10 year old car with 100k+ miles for North of £2000. Just constantly battling prices. Just barely keeping our head above water, no holidays. Maybe a weekend away with kids if that. It's depressing

50 yoa Canadian here. My dad, 80yoa, said something a month ago that still has me thinking. When we were talking about how the elites are living their best lives with space companies, super yachts, private jets, security teams, and $6k a night hotels, and the average person is barely surviving and left behind, he thinks the rest of us are being “harvested”; rent, fuel, food, taxes… the cost of living in general is at an all time high and funding the one percent lifestyle. Good luck everyone.

Vent, I think change is coming for you my friend. Remember that people only employ people to profit off them , basic business and can't blame anyone for that. Many people accept that. However, in your case my friend, you are obviously a genuine hard working guy. If your channel does start to generate some extra income for you please think about becoming your own boss. I.e setting up your own business, that could be pressure washing, landscape gardening, carpet cleaning, window cleaning etc etc. You've shown you but the effort and hours into working for someone else, if you were to do that for yourself then at least you would retain 100% of the rewards for yourself. You just need the confidence and capital. Confidence and be built and capital, well, hopefully your youtube channel can help build that. What ever you decide to do I wish you the best of luck sir!

Hey Brother, I might release my video because of you, been in the making for more then 7 years (maybe more). I found purpose and stability in doing my "Dharma", which is basically what you do, support the family, and try to live according to your nature. However without concept of God, this all loose meaning, so we are here to help each other indeed. I don't speak about religion, there are many, and it's fine, religion prepare us, but rather deeper spiritual meaning, to understand the meaning of this creation and why we are here. I want to share this Vedic knowledge with the world, mind you, it's already there, but people think its old scriptures, that mean no thing in today's world, which is wrong. So thank you, let me think on what I can say and share with this people and this world.
Keep it up, be authentic and trustful, this is your way.

Give thanks for the energy today, brother. It wasn’t designed to support us, was it? Time to switch program, perhaps. There’s enough of us to tilt the balance now, to support the people’s message, to change the way we are consuming, spending, or accepting the minimum. We all have choices and options we can make now. We are not victims, we are from incredibly powerful ancestry and need to remember we can change the course of our personal realities. Day by day, there is no deadine to this. We just have to keep on making the changes, however small, it will add up in our favour. I trust you and your partner will find the solutions, near or far from here. Much peace, harmony and resilience to you on your path🙏🏼🧚🏼🔱🦁

Working for yourself is a path I can wholeheartedly vouch for. It’s harder but much more rewarding and, in time it really will pay dividends financially. I was here, and I’m by no means well off yet, or even close to where I want to be, but I’m going the right direction. I started while I was working full time at another job and I was just like you. This sounds like your own personal d-day and I hope you can find what you’re looking for. I was 39 when I decided and tried reselling on eBay, which could easily make you a living at, but is a messy space consuming job. I settled on window cleaning and I’m getting there now. I wish you well, keep your chin up and start aiming for something, whatever it is, give yourself a realistic time frame, and do it. Much love x

I always think of people that got it worse..just have to think about my grandparents..my grand grandpa fought in 2 world wars..then when the commis occupied czech, my family lost their farm, my grandpa lost his job as a police officer..grand grandpa, grandpa, grandma, mother, father, 2 boys had to live together in a 3 room appartment..men of the family would constantly lose job or not get hired cause they had a bad notice in the political books. My grandma was a ballet dancer and earned for the whole family..
No burnout no psychologists, just pushing through..
Wont make our problems less, but yeah, suffering belongs to life.
I think its like with the saying "save one human and you saved humanity". Just one good moment can make up for so many bad moments.
Carry on!

When you find someone who you can trust with all your heart and mind, life transformation happens in such a way that you don't care anymore what your job is or how much you earn. Give all your work to Him, and He will grant you blessing and his favor. I'm 45 with no savings, real estate, or career. But I tell you this because it is true. We do not live for the things that shall decay and perish into ashes but for eternal life after death, which means to go unto heaven and be with Him. God needs you, God wants to have a relationship with ya. Because He made us in his image! YOU are born for one reason, to exalt Him through your goodness in the heart. The troubles of this fallen world are incomparable small with glory in heaven. Prepare yourself to be baptized in the Name of the Holy Spirit by asking the Lord Jesus Christ to prepare you. Don't question how, let His LOVE for ya do miracles. If you have a little time to hold a Holy Book and read one line only, it will be granted, trust me. God will never desert you, no matter what trail you have to face. GOD keeps his promises, those who love you are with you.

You need to look to do something else, royal mail, crane operator, rope access, need to think outside the box and get it done, no one will do it for you unfortunately, loads of industry out there, start looking, I went and done my NDT courses in Aberdeen, yes it costs money, anyone can do it if they put the time in to study, not rocket science, but it pays good money, minimum £20 to £34 per hour depending whether you work, offshore or onshore,

Kirky, my heart goes out to you. Stay strong despite the odds, in the end only family matters. You should be able to subsidise with UC. Your employers, as nice as they are, as family orientated as you are, or many private companies have only their financial interest at heart and you'll never know how well their doing. I'm 60 and spent years working for small private and family businesses, where an I now!? I can't afford holidays, and can't support my family. What changed for me in the last 10 years is changing to public service, pay getting better, more stable healthier work. ❤ to you and the family from Yorkshire. Brothers stay strong so our children will be strong, they're gonna have a harder fight unless we get rid of the current political elites and reset UK values.

I already feel your pain...
2001 had a successful business, got screwed over... lost it all
2007 - 2012 (took me 6 years to recover) had another successful business, 3 bed flat, wife, lost it all due to several reasons, ended up back home. Still not recovered lol
Like you, im still broke & tired from that, but, you just gotta push through and try something else. Dont ever give up, keep fighting and you'll get there. I myself have plans for this year, restarting from scratch and going back to my roots. Its hard work, especially as you get older. Dont let 'Life' win

I am heavy on looking for success stories, and don't forget Colonel Sanders starts KFC at 65 I think.
Anyway the YouTube channel is a start, you're on to something. But keep pressing, what are you passionate about, read books, study, inspiration is important cause many out there have made it.
And finally, PRAY, pick up your BIBLE, SEEK GOD, HE will make a WAY

Kirky, I would like to call you brother although we have never met, sadly, this is the state of the country right now and it's easy for people to say chin up, keep going and get on with it but the fact is, it's not easy, there are many of us in the same boat or similar, living day to day, paycheck to paycheck, struggling to keep food on the table, juggling between paying peter and paul, my thoughts are with you and your family and I honestly wish you the very best!

Nice talk and walk. I suppose most of us look back on the carefree times of childhood as the best ere, whether it's the 70s, 80s, 90s. I'm raising my kids in Thailand, and for years I was always concerned that they were missing out on all the things I enjoyed growing up in the UK, much like yourself - playing outdoors, snow etc. But despite that, they have their own special childhood memories and experiences, and it always centres around family and learning events. So even though most kids now grow up with phones in their faces, it really isn't that different. They still get to experience that sense of awe and wonder as they explore the world, and they ultimately have to learn what their passion and direction in life is. So as a dad, if we can encourage our kids to follow their passion and not worry about silly stuff like status and money, they will eventually enjoy a fulfilled life - mission accomplished. And yeah, phuck politics. That's all a distraction. Just focus on YOUR JOURNEY and it will all work out! Promise!

First thing, I hope you are better now your working week is over.
Secondly, get out of that job, as soon as possible
You may as well get a job on shifts doing 4 on 4 off, you'll get a shift premium on top of that and you will get 4 days off to rest.
Without gloating I earn at least double what you do and I do 2x12 shifts one week and 5x12 the next.
I work about 16 weeks a year when I factor in holidays.
I still spend nearly everything I get but I do salary sacrifice pension to make sure I can go part time at 60.
You need to get out of that job, rest yourself on your off days and do it ASAP.
Trust me mate, time is worth more than money, time you can't buy back, money comes and goes.
Time is the key, you can start to feel better, invest time in your family and that will be your reward.
6 days a week is modern day slavery.
I'll follow your channel, and keep in the loop with you, stay strong pal

52 and broke without an actual economic opportunity nor career nor assets any more than a used car. This matured debt based economics system in Western countries from the US to Canada to the UK and over in Australia just doesn work by the people, of the people, and for the people other than high level managers who are narcisistically good at speaking narratives their bosses want to hear. You can go to nicer developing countries abroad, but there's little work and career/business opportunities for us since they're interested in us as tourists and executives who have business partners. I don't find it fun any more for we can't really eat out, fly places, and do fun things like go to a concert or a nice museum over in London. People who are successful are usually narcisistic and good at speaking narratives people to hear in acting, managing, and video production of a show. If you've a family business, you might wanna come up with a new strategy and put in about 80 hours a week for a while to re-invent and grow it. If you've a farm, do the same. You're doing good getting over a thousand views per video just doing the individual talk show about life which I watch many different people in different countries for there aren't opportunities to go places, socialize, and be a part of a community and culture today. And most people in our real lives aren't friends for everyone are exhausted, socially isolated, and road rage/speeding to get to work or home to get online and rest too. That is basically the American dream not to mention lots of people are working 60 to 100 hours a week to pay for their kids, house, cars, and credit cards for it's just so inflationary and over prices. An old feller said one has to be asleep to believe the American dream for it's a nightmere. I'm sure Britain is getting rough for the walk videos such as those of Charlie Veach are documentaries in the current day instead of just being entertainment about Britain being great for it's sadly so decadent and deteriorated today as is my country too compared to 20 or more years ago when we were so proud to be who we are seeing the future being on the up and up instead of a dystopian future depicted in classic science fiction like it's fast becoming since 2020 though this was all secretely planned decades ago by the oligarch controlligarchs who are now familiar names in high places who are out about all that now which was previously considered fictional conspiracy theories and TV.

There’s no question times are tough.. Here’s an alternate take:
• You mentioned working 35+ hours per week. This is normal, in fact, anything under 40 would be low(everyone is working 40 hours at minimum in a f/t role). Try to find a role where you can work less and make the same wage.
• The fatigue is a product of raising a family. There’s no way out of this, unfortunately. There’s the ‘hard years’ before the coming of age, where your kids need you. Nothing can really be done, just know that it’s not forever.
• Your comments re: your wife/ partner. Mate, just know she chose you for a reason, probably the measure of you as a man. You can always better yourself for her, you have that within you, so don’t focus on ‘could haves’ they will destroy you, internally.
