When I was a royal guard, and walking guarding outside a particular castle, the crows had noticed that we walked very particular routes, so particular that you can actually see the routes as the stones are more worn there. We had steel under our boots to make sound, and they would throw their nuts on my route, using me as they do cars to open their nuts.

  412. I worked at an arcade for 5 years. A lot of the games are rigged. It obviously depends on the game, but many of them have options where you can set the payout rate. Games like Cyclone, Stacker, Keymaster, etc. Stacker and Keymaster, where you put in a very expensive prize to draw people in (Xbox, PS4, Beats, etc.), we would set a 1/1000 payout rate. So we'd always be guaranteed to make money on it. My boss even told one of my coworkers before we opened for the day, to play Stacker until he wins. He literally played the game for 1.5 hours straight, won the game, so it reset the payout, so we wouldn't have to give out a prize for another month or whatever. Arcades are scams, simple as that. I honestly thought it was just common knowledge though, I'm surprised everybody doesn't know this.

  506. Was in a high school class that did this in the 1990's. The teacher had two criteria, first to 10' and longest distance traveled. So I had a car with a conical spool on the drive axle, which helps with both good starting acceleration and changing the drive ratio to stretch out the range. So I thought I was clever in trying to score well on both criteria. Turns out I wasn't clever enough... Some other kid in the class found a loophole. At the time the contest didn't stipulate that the mousetrap had to be part of the car, nor did it specify that the car must stay on the ground. So he had one of those Micro Machines toy cars and used the mousetrap to catapult it down the hallway. It flew about half the distance before bouncing off some lockers and skidding to the end of the hall. Thus insta-winning both categories, even if it wasn't in a way that was the intended nature of the contest. The teacher allowed that because he considered it fair given the provided rules, but changed the rules for the next class that did this project so no easy cheats could happen. I can only laugh about it though, since I was on friendly terms with the kid that beat my design. Nobody was allowed to copy each other, so I was wondering what strategy he had that would beat mine and I thought he was joking about it. (He wasn't wrong.) So what about my car? It ended up 4th in distance and 2nd on speed. Didn't have access to fancy bearings like others did for the distance, and only got the speed because everyone else trying for it spun their tires on the polished floor. However it did get awarded the most interesting design for having a novel approach compared to others. Everyone else thought the overall win strategy was too cheesy too.

Look, I started middle school which means you are pretty much the best part of my day. When science is to boring your videos cheer me up and lighten my day.They have just the amount of fun and science that can make someone’s day but not bor them. I am so glad I’m able to walk into class and destroy everyone telling about what’s kinetic energy,I even used the blocks to make a metal picture. Our health system will be overrun, even with the current actions, its just a matter of time. What we need is ventilators. This will increase the critical care capacity for the sickest individuals, saving more lives.

  647. To you guys who are wondering about coal and wind etc..... yes those come from the sun too. We only have three original energy sources: The light from the sun (available directly or in stored form, such as oil and coal) and the shockwave energy from ancient supernova (only available in stored form, such as uranium), and finally we also have the rotational momentum of the Earth/Moon system (only available through ocean tides). We only have two kinds of powerplants using the supernova energy: nuclear powerplants, and geothermal powerplants (the middle of the earth is hot because there's lots of uranium in the centre of earth). We only have one kind of powerplant using the Earth/Moon rotational momentum: Tidal powerplants (and those are super rare). ALL OTHER KINDS of powerplants use sunlight! Oil and coal and natural gas is stored sunlight from millions of years ago, wind is moving because the sun heated up the air unevenly across the globe (so wind is stored sunlight from a few weeks or days ago), waves are moving because some wind passed over the water (so waves are pretty much the same as wind), biofuel is stored sunlight from a few years ago. Those big hydroelectric dams? Those are solar power too. The sun heats up the ocean, which evaporates and millions of tons of water are lifted up into the air, and then falls as rain on the mountains, collects into rivers that flow back downhill again, which is where we tap into them and extract the stored solar energy.

He was a little nervous about staying there with only a few kids in the classroom. But has no problem going to football or basketball without mom and dad there....go figure. But since he came home from the class. He hasn’t stopped talking about it. I’ve now introduced him to my entire collection of electric motors and actuators and buttons and switches. Or what my wife calls “junk” hahahahaha I told him to ask his robotics teacher if he knows who mark Rober is. Hahahah of course he does!! But it’s a good ice breaker.
