Oh, and to those confused as to the relevance at comparing these cars to fast cars from a previous era, it is absolutely relevant to me, as I am from that era and remember how crazy fast these cars were at the time. Iin fact, I actually currently have a 205 1.9GTi in my 'collection' now (as well as other cars from the era), as it was a dream car when I passed my test at the time - but clearly couldn't afford one at 17! Now, it is wrapped up in cotton wool, only to be thrashed on sunny days..... though I did run it ragged at a track day once, and it definitely held its own!

  43. Love these track battles. Interestingly, same driver, same track, new Cupra Leon 300 posted an identical 45.7. Would have expected Civic to be slightly faster so maybe sport line trim does make a difference....
