As much as I love lions this Excactly why Siberian Tigers are my favorites, Lion's can be a bit of a cowards sometimes. For animals who create coalitions to protect eachother, to
fight together, they sure don't know how to use it correctly. I've yet to see a 5v5 4v4 3v3 2v2, it's always a 5v1 4v1 3v1 2v1, it's seems like one always gets abandoned by His brothers despite all going to the fight
together. This is how every lion coalition falls, they get picked off one by one, I just don't understand how for a animal that's supposed to be "loyal" to each other always end up getting split up and picked off as their own
coward brothers run away. It's sad because they're is so much potential just not being used correctly. They just don't understand that yeah you may have survived for now but
now your one more lion down, your coalition is weaker and your just buying time, your number is coming up, your just next in line. Lions are not cowards when it comes to hunting, only when they are fighting other coalitions, one always seems to get abandoned by His brothers, I've seen so many videos of one male getting mauled and gutted by two, three, four males with none of his brothers around helping him out, while he screams for help in agony.

It makes me sad to see lions fight, but a younger, stronger young male lion will challenge the alpha breeding lion of the pride and may even be strong enough to oust the old guy and take over the pride. Sad, but this keeps the breeding stock's genes young and strong to produce the next strong generation of their species.
There are two intact laws of the jungle that will always exist, i.e., survival of the fittest and eat or be eaten. The very young, very old, infirm, weak or injured are left behind and the new alpha one takes over. Then the ones left behind may live for a while, become rogue hunters or they may be too weak to hunt, in which case they will die or become prey for other carnivores who see the weakness and take advantage of it to prey on the old timer. Sad, but it is the strong and healthy who live on!
