Even if the cold war era F-16 would be 100 times better than equivalent or newer Russian planes, it would still not matter because of Russian control of the skies over the Ukraine with anti-air systems that according to everyone are the best in the world. Basically Russia could use Sturmovik or some other WW2 era planes and still control the skies over the Ukraine because they have the S-400, S-500 system and much more, to back them up:)

The more FAB250, FAB500, FAB1500 can be dropped & drones used the better, it will keep Russian casualties low. If theses "burn-rate" continues Ukraine have no other option than to surrender.
