Bruce that button you didn't know what it was is simply weight transfer, over here if you're at traffic lights on a hill, we usually lift the axle before getting going, but weight transfer pulls weight off the tag, and puts it on the drive for traction, it then cancels the function at about 20mph 👍 that's simply what it is.

  5. I don’t get how there is so many of y’all going on here complaining about Bruce selling unfinished projects or that he’s not a real trucker. First of all he does this because he enjoys it and it’s for our entertainment. Last time I checked Bruce buys all these projects with his money not ours. Yeah when you watch his videos you are in a sense paying him but youtube is free entertainment... sounds like a good deal to me. If you don’t think there are people out there that like semis and just the overall appeal of owning and hauling loads for fun then your just naive. You don’t have to be a know it all hard core trucker to want do these things or actually learn them. And remember Bruce went through CDL school so pretty sure he’s qualified enough to be doing anything an OTR trucker does. You never learn anything until you get out there and try it for yourself. So all the haters can go fuck themselves because if you wanna keep watching then you’re only supporting someone who you don’t wanna actually support.

And the fact that they just happened to see your vids and decided to stop by and show their truck was just amazing! It was an absolute pleasure to meet Martin and he seems like a great guy! I'm a truck driver in Oregon and I would love to rock a scania here! I cannot wait to see your face when you seen what Finland has in store for you!

I’m 70 years old and this sure brought back memories of the mid seventies when I actually drove a Wrecker identical to that except it was green and a just a little shorter because the gap between the cab and bed wasn’t as wide and ours had a extra 40,000 # bed winch, thanks for the memories.   15. Hi Bruce, congratulations on your Scania 144-530. I have had several of them when they were new, the one you have there is the first model 144, you can see it on the front grill, it is not the same as the red one you have, it is with it (new muzzle), in a Scania 530 V8 you don't have to use all the gears, empty tractor you can start in 1 high and high split and switch to 3 high low split and then in high split, then you will find that it starts howling and out of the exhaust pipe, when you skid gear, when you can make it howl when you change gear you can drive Scania 530 V8, you can try searching here for Scania 144 530 v8 straight tube, then you will see and hear how a 530er should sound when can drive in them. you can check the serial style number on the left door, it's the long number you need to look at, it should say 530 or 460 in the middle of the number, you can see how many horses it has 530 hp or 460 if it's a 460 hp it doesn't howl when you change gear as it runs with a different turbo. so good luck with it and see if you can get it to howl when you shift gears.👍

The big difference between American trucks and those from Europe, apart from the legal requirements for dimensions and weight, seems to be that the trucks from Europe try more to take the strain off the driver and make his already hard job as pleasant as possible. And Scania is certainly at the forefront of this. It was nice to see that the American visitors were so well received and that they were able to see and try out everything that interested them. That's how it should be.

  18. Bruce, you are leaving out an important detail that you should mention. The truck has a holding power of almost 2000hp with retarder, engine brake and exhaust brake. More power than 3 American engines together with engine brake. That will drive them crazy.

  29. The G stands for Heavy Long Distance transport. C is Construction Transport D is Distribution Transport L is Long Distance Transport G is Heavy Long Distance Transport. From 2005 on when the new Scanias came out the G Scania's are all with the middle cab between R and P.

  30. Hi Bruce. I am a Norwegian who lived in Wisconsin for many years. Love your Scania videos!! Did you know that Scania has your shoe rack in the steps going up into the truck? Most truckers have a no shoes allowed inside the cab policy. :) Ask the Scania people to share that with you. Take care. Vidar. :)
