I’m so sorry for all that you have been through, but God has a higher purpose for you. You survived an overdose and everything else in life because you are meant to be here. If you chose to go to a rehab, they can detox you and slowly but surely, will help you learn coping skills regarding your social anxiety and other fears. God will make a way for you, if you allow Him into your life. He wants to change you and help you. I know you said you like to hide, but please don’t hide from God. He’s a loving God who loves you and wants to help you. If not you, who? If not now, when? I’ll be praying for you and hopefully someday we’ll get to see another interview with you.   2. I’m 5 years clean. I smoked crack heavily for 4 years. Before that addiction I’ve done drugs here and there but have always smoked pot daily since a teenager. Today I’m totally clean. I’m a truck driver, make good money and have 100k invested in the stock market. I started homeless and got where I’m at today all by myself. Anything is possible. You have to get clean for you and only you. Picking up the pieces is a very long road. Good luck to you ❤

  30. I can attest to this. I am an IV heroin addict. This past June 9th was my 16-year clean anniversary. I shot dope for 6 years every single day, several times a day. I called myself a functioning addict. I have three kids, and they are grown now who are the reason for my sobriety. I knew I would never stay clean in the same environment so I put the kids and the dog in the car at 1 am and drove 6 1/2 hours to a state where I knew noone but my childhood best friend whose never done drugs in her life. I went straight to a methadone clinic that same morning and never looked back. Methadone saved my life. I am convinced I would be dead if I was still using with heroin non existent, and fentanyl replacing it because i was using enormous amounts. I pray for everyone still stuck in addiction. There is NO better feeling than having my grand babies climbing all over me, putting up my autumn, Halloween and Christmas decorations, seeing my kids being kind and gracious human beings, watching my daughter graduate from USC Columbia with a bachelor in science degree, watching her flourish as an RN, watching my other daughter be an amazing Mama, watching my son go to work every day and be a good man to his fiancee, buying my family gifts, taking vacations to Hawaii and Siesta Key this year, etc. We DO recover, and I couldn't be more grateful.

  141. After being on the streets for a while, one of the hardest things to deal with besides addiction must be adjusting to life under a roof again. The trauma of not having basic needs, over and over, is deeply scarring just on its own, letting down your guard and getting comfortable with just being physically comfortable must be a struggle all of its own. Hang in there Sije, take advantage of the housing help, and be kind to yourself.

I also lived on the street but only for six months, even in Finland many people are without housing... Hopefully CG Gets his act together and decides to quit... Go ahead and stop drugs.   169. Over here in New Zealand Fentanyl has not made an impact but we have a huge methamphetamine problem. Life hurts so many people in so many ways and there are millions out there suffering through life. I do pray that change is coming and that people find other ways to cope. I agree with the comments here. CG shines as a very special person. She has great insight, understands how and why these things have happened. I think the last few years have been her schooling. She will have learned more than any normal school could teach. I believe the Universe has a plan for us all and I would have to believe CG will overcome this and go on to educate others who don't need her experiences, but can learn from her.   177. Sad I was in active addiction for years and didn't think i could get out. But I did it is possible and the life on the other side of addiction is so much better then while using. My worst day sober is a million times better then my best day high. For anyone struggling still just know you can get help if you want it but the most important part of it all is that you yourself has to really want it or no amount of programming will work.

  193. It's interesting in that this is a rare video. It lays bare her thinking without any dramatics or blame or good vs. bad. It just is. Judging by the posts, it allows each of us to draw our own conclusions. It's kind of like a magician saying, "here's how I do that magic trick." She just lays it out there. She doesn't try to justify it or place blame or say poor, poor me. She just tells you exactly what's going on in her life and in her head. For that reason, while watching this, sometimes I saw a junkie and sometimes I saw a beautiful soul who is just in a bad way. It just left me hoping and praying that she finds peace and, at some point, is able to put this behind her and live a life that gives her tranquility, love, and fellowship with others. God bless her.

  241. Addict here too: when you are in the throws of your addiction nothing else matters. I've been clean 8 years and I have my life back in order but let me say if anyone here is like I don't know why do people let that happen to themselves. I'll tell you I am a person that is so against drugs that I would make you get off my property and never come back if you brought drugs to my house, I didn't care if you were my best friend. But in 2010 I had back surgery and got addicted to opioids and when I got done with rehab and really didn't need them anymore but was finding reasons to get the dr to write me more that's when I know I was caught in addiction. That was February of 2011 and I truly wanted to quit and it took until March 2016 when I took my last pill. So I'm not saying take it easy on addicts but understand that they may not want to be in the addiction. Even this girl if she could get out without the withdrawals and depression and the terrible fight back to normalcy she probably would want to right now because all of that stuff is the worst things I've ever been through in my life and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Anyway before you judge remember what I just said.

I hope u find the strength & courage to quit drinking/drugging, so you are able to focus on your anxiety & past issues. I am also a recovering alcoholic/addict. By the grace of God, I was able to get clean from those hard drugs (never injected but I snorted & smoked) and now I'm married with 2 kids, a college degree & a mortgage. A STABLE LIFE IS POSSIBLE AFTER DRUGS! Me & soo many others are proof. I'm sure you know drugs & alcohol only lead to prison, institutions & death. YOU DESERVE BETTER THAN THOSE OPTIONS. This saying always resonated with me, "ONE IS TOO MANY & A THOUSAND IS NEVER ENOUGH!" I hung on to this when I finally got out of denial that I was powerless over drugs. I haven't done that in a long time and you are reminded me to do that again. ive never seen this girl but I would love to meet her. what a spacial person. I hope she can get into a treatment center very soon. im happy to donate in whatever capacity for her when the time comes.

  277.  @otherside305  1000% yes. I certianly didn't mean to suggest there is no hope and for those who do the outreach, you're doing the lords work. I just mean, it's sad to see such youth and potential that is burried under the effects of the drugs. They deaden your self respect and dig deep into your soul to enable you to lie to yourself. I'll get clean tomorrow, but that day never comes. I remember the thought process. Claiming it was fear of withdrawl or that I was just not "ready" when it was actually the desire to be high and numb comboned with the fear that I was no longer able to live with the sober me. I can see it in her eyes when you offered rehab. All that said, what you're doing is worth it. you can't save everyone, but it's worth it for the few that are ready. God bless.

Strengthen them in their inner being that they may be able to deal with withdrawal symptoms without falling back into the temptation of using drugs. Make the crooked paths in the recovery journey straight that they may conquer all the setbacks that the enemy has set before them. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

  287. I was addicted to heroin and alcohol. Rehab 4 times. Lost my daughter. Lost my house. Lost my car. Lost my job. Lived in the broom closet of a motel. Now, I own a company, have a house/car, great girlfriend. The only reason I’m not on the streets is because I never gave up. Every time I relapsed, I’d forgive myself and try again. You just can’t give up, even if it takes 1000 failed attempts. If you do, it’s all over.

  296. Watching this is even more eye opening and scary because I was in overtown, doing fentanyl and sleeping in my car as little as 6 months ago. I struggled for 7 years after going to college and coming from a pretty wealthy family. I tried everything to stop and so did my family. It wasn't until I got arrested for a crazy charge (that I was actually innocent of) and put on house arrest that I've really started to have a bad sinking feeling in my stomach when I think about using. I relapsed and used a few times this year. Then, 2 months ago I overdosed and as crazy as it sounds I didnt believe I could die from this or end up in prison etc. Now I know anything is possible with this disease, including recovery. I was a chronic relapser that refused to believe life was worth living without drugs. Only god can help you.

They teach people work skills too there. There is also Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. People can stay there for at least a year. They are Bible-based too so they help people with their faith as well! I will email you!

  320. It is that percent that gives hope. The truth is once down it is nearly impossible to get back up even when clean. I'm currently helping some who was in this very situation. Even with my full support and her sobriety, and dedication to change, I can't even explain how hard it truly is. I have had a front row seat. The average person has no idea truly what it takes unraveling and fixing things. While jail may get them temporary sobriety, they are released right back to nothing, which many will then use to escape. Im no expert, and I don't have all the answers. Just know alot of addicts are truly great people at heart.
