  3. Exams have been getting easier since the late 1980s. I used to date a lecturer back in the lates 80s, who said that marking his biology and chemistry papers, grammar was to be ignored. Also, every year there seemed to be something in the O’Level that was dropped, only to have to be taught in A’Level in order to make sense of anything. Then came the GCSE course work, where (I believe) over half of the final exam could be course work, which could be done in your own time at home. On another subject, I applied for the police force back in the late 80s. (I wanted to be a dog handler) Entrants (amongst other things) would have to have a clean record, minimum of 4 or 5 GCSEs, 5ft4” height for women. I applied the same time as an Indian girl. I was 5ft7” she was 5ft2”, I had 9 O’Levels and 4 A’Levels, she had ONE GCSE and we both had a clean criminal record. …..guess who got invited?

  4. Hang on... If we trained up 500 Nigerian nurses in the UK that totally defeats why we'd have imported them in the first place. Which is not just a lack of nurses now, but a limited number coming through the training system. Those 500 trained came at the expense of not training 500 UK born people. We be already turning away applicants for nuring courses because of limited capacity and finances. That's insane!

He was complaining about the dumbing down of exams for those of BAME, it helps no one, it just dumbs down the education for everyone no matter where you came from, and that's the issue.
