You know something, I once had a Japanese military member stay at my home back when I was active duty Air Force. He was here to learn English and he learned it very fast. What I remember most, was when he bought something at the store on base and he signed his name on the debit card receipt in Japanese, his writing was so small and perfect, I was like, do all Japanese people have such nice penmanship? I wonder to this day how he is doing. I don't remember his name. It was very long ago. But I do remember him. He was my only real friend from Japan.

  24. I live in Colorado, USA. However, my mother was from Japan and we lived there for 4 years when I was young. My grandfather's house was way outside a very small village called Koda, about 1 and a half hours north of Kagoshima. The monkeys, rain, and green mountains brought back great memories. So much beauty! Thank you for recording your trip!
