  1. I grew up very devout Mormon-- my father was a seminary principle and dean of church history at BYU. I understand the anguish that occurs when you begin to entertain the idea that all you had believed in your entire life may not be true. It is sad when you realize that church principles such as "eternal family" and "immortal life" may also be a fiction. There is a certain comfort in blocking out reality. Johnny did a good job explaining the emotional toll that happens to all of us. However, I am happy that I live in reality, not fantasy anymore.

  10. Incredible reporting, Johnny. This entire situation is so sad. I feel for the Ukrainian people because it hits close to home. I grew up a refugee after we were forced out of Bosnia during the Yugoslav wars and lost everything. Seeing these people going through something so similar is hard to watch. It pains me to see that 30 years later things like this are still happening. It really hits so close to home because the Ukrainian people feel like relatives. They look and sound almost exactly like all my family members. We’re all brothers and sisters in this part of the world... we share so many similarities. I’m wishing the best for the people of Ukraine and also all the regular innocent Russians. These wars have never been about regular people, but about angry little men wanting all the power they can get.

  20. I think why some European countries took over a lot of the world was because of the constant wars that happened within Europe with no one country dominating all the others. So there was a constant fear of losing out strategic balance of power once certain countries started getting more powerful from conquering other places outside Europe.

  21. Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed this type of explanation. It covers both arguments really well. For me, personally, I never used any cryptocurrency and currently people seems to be invested to know more about it which is great and all but I'm really worried about the price of GPU as it is currently skyrocketing and it wouldn't decreased anytime soon. I just hope someone found an alternative on how to mine these cryptocurrency.

  25. As a Swiss citizen who did the mandatory army service, i completely agree with the guy at 20:24 . Even more than just learning how to use guns, it makes people realize how much in common we have regardless of our "civil" background. People you wouldn't hang out with in normal time become friends and everyone is super tolerant. Something like this in the US would definitely help reducing the political divide.

  31. Thank you for bringing up the complex factors of employment. It has driven me nuts watching my 21 year old, honors college grad, find her first professional job. Particularly while every news program on this subject seems to rave about the unprecedented low unemployment rate. It's not as easy as "get a degree and get a job." Very talented humans, with much to give, might also have physical or mental health challenges that limit what jobs they can take or where they can move to. I'd love it if you could cover the impact of AI on this issue, too. AI as gate keeper is something of a nightmare for job seekers.

  32. Magnificent work. I am a Russian, and I've been watching Johnny for two years at this point. Watching this video, I once again made sure that he is a true professional in his field. I'm actively interested in politics, so I knew the whole context before I watched this. And, actually, I watched this video not because of the story itself (which, as I wrote above, I know already), but because I wanted to see how a journalist from the US would shape and tell it. And Johnny told the story as it has actually been going. Of course, he did omit some smaller points, but they fundamentally don't change the picture, and it's basically the costs of trying to condense such a big, long and complex story into a reasonable video duration. I actually wanted to contribute to this video, but couldn't due to the tight schedule lately. I'm glad that other Russians explained the situation nicely. Well done, mate! Keep it up! :) I wish peace for Ukraine and freedom for Russia as well.

As Russian from eastern Siberia (Irkutsk) but living in Western Canada (Edmonton) since 2015 and traveling across both countries I would like to mention that some First nation from Canada are genetically very close with Tuva, Buryat, Saha nations. And I am so proud of them in Russia : they were able to survive better then in a Canada regards of their language and traditions. Thank you for this video about real Russian people across different republics.

  50. As a European I actually like the imperial System For Dungeons and Dragons. It is kinda cool to have this old-timey system where people measure stuff with feet, grains, oxen and so on. Very immersive if you want to invoke a medieval-like feeling.
