My grandparents took my father to Mauritius when he was 5 For a surgery ,they couldn't go back to their home because everyone from the island was evicted by american soldiers. They lost everything they had and left with nothing.. Imagine the pain of losing everything you built and all the sacrifice you made..

  35. When I covered this topic last month I was barely able to scratch the surface. Great video. When I deployed to Iraq over 10 years ago the drones we had organic to the platoon sounded like lawn mowers ripping through the sky and were about as heavy. Crazy to think they have hand held ones that each squad can have now. soon they'll follow you around on patrol like a little personal pet. A tomagotchi battle-buddy if you will. anyway, big fan of your content and story telling style, all the best !

Often I am perceived by the public as more of a service industry worker and less of a healthcare team member.   44. My friend's uncle died working in one of the stadium. His family was never compensated cause the death was mentioned natural and yeah he was totally heathly before. And the worst thing is the Nepalese government doing completely nothing despite knowing the reality. My friend's family had tried but their stories never got heard so thank you Johnny for bringing this up. And yes, the world should never forget that 6500+ deaths.

  46. Hat’s off to you. Turning this into a chance to make the video even better is a great reaction. One thing I actually enjoyed in the original video was the focus on narratives and how different places view history through their own lenses. Maybe a structure that flips between these perspectives could work better? That way, it doesn’t come across as though you’re fully adopting a single perspective as your own. Excited to see the new version!

As an Indonesian, it is lovely to see one tries to spell the names correctly, although the 'Krakatoa' one should be closer to 'Krakatau' or maybe you can refer it to the more aptly-named "Anak Krakatau (Krakatoa's son)". It is also good to point out the importance of volcano to our local culture and religion, such as Bromo for Osing people, but you forgot Merapi is also being connected to the folklore of the Queen of the South Sea (Nyi Roro Kidul- Ratu Pantai Selatan) and the Royalty of Jogjakarta (Kesultanan Jogjakarta). Last but not least, if I may, I want to add that we also have Tambora, the one that causes Battle of Waterloo to went that way (the year without summer) and Toba, an ancient volcano of which the eruption leads to latest ice age.
