Bc of his upbringing and the period which he lived, Frederick was a confusing mix of contradictions. The biggest one is his obsession with military even though privately he was a sensitive soul. Not only that but he was one the best military commanders of all time. He was an absolute genius when it came to warfare. That same war lord was also obsessed with art, poetry, and music. He was subscribed to enlightenment ideals but was a ruthless king who left swaths of dead bodies across Europe just to increase his land and power. He obviously wasn’t too enlightened since he ruled his country like a military dictatorship. Him marrying a woman is a pretty glaring contradiction. Lol.
