Mike, i am from England, am 20 years old and i grew up in china, lived there for 7 years actually. China is probably my favourite place on earth, recently went back for a few weeks. But boy am i glad that you show china for the way it is and not how the media portrays it. it really is amazing, the nature is mind bogglingly beautiful and the people are just fantastic and so hospitable. i unfortunately i haven't been to hong kong, always wanted to but i most certainly will after watching this video. Mike you are a fantastic person and an insanely good youtuber, you're vibe is immaculate, you should be super proud of what you do bro i am so glad i found your channel, you are a hell of a human and deserve great things, lots of love man

Over the past few years, many westerners have intentionally come to Xinjiang to shoot unrealistic images, maliciously and deliberately smearing the region, something that is often done by western politicians ..... China doesn't have a culture of hitchhiking, but you've felt the freedom and warmth of the people of Xinjiang yourself, so I hope your video will be objective and fair in evaluating the region, rather than intentionally discrediting it and chilling the hearts of the Chinese people. Lastly, I would like to say that Chinese police are different from your western ones, Chinese police protect the people, you have not done anything bad, no need to be vain or afraid, you are very safe in China, wish you peace!

Turkic people in Xinjiang are not "native, indigenous people", not anymore than the Hans, Mongols, Kazakhs, ... The Turkic tribe moved to the current Kashgar region around the 4th/5th century, that was nearly 1000 years after Yellow River Basin people started to mind for jade there, and 700 years after the Han dynasty established military garrisons (西域都護府). Uyghurs, who themselves didn't arrived in the Taklamakan Desert until the Tang Dynasty from the north of Central Yellow River basin, were 100% East Asian (Mongoloid) people, Buddhists, until the Turkic tribe expand eastward from Kashgar after the 5th century, and spread Muslim and their bloodline mixed. This is why Uyghurs on the west of Taklamakan Desert are more Turkic-looking, and those on the east of the desert, such as Hami, are more Asian-looking.
Mind you, the name "Xinjiang", or "New Territory" was from the Manchus after they came into power, and so for them coming from Eastern Siberia, Central Asia was "new". Before the Manchu's Qing Dynasty, Xinjiang had been Western Territory - or 西域。People of European descent need to stop making up their history for the rest of the World, and force their view and politics based on that twisted historical perspective.
