Thanks for sharing this not so often told story! This might be my favorite science accident I have ever come across in a long time π

SO COOL! I do everything I can to reduce my trash, but I still feel guilty about throwing things away. I'm glad humans are beginning to develop better solutions for waste management! Fingers crossed for those fully automated luxury gay space replicator systems.

Dr Z. sent me!
69
Iβm still not fond of zoos, but Iβm delighted that this lady's position exists in more and more zoos. Iβm also happy that we are finding more ways to help our animal friends live their best lives. Thanks for sharing your story!
69
On your mark, get set, glow! We're so excited for this series!!
68
These guys are the reasons I subscribed. I am pretty excited.
67
Joe says high.
66
She's got more confidence than Joe while hosting. Great episode
65
I'm a City Council member in a rural community prone to flooding. At last night's Board of Equalization meeting we discussed the value of a property in the flood zone. Thanks for this interesting video, this highlights some important implications of climate change and what communities can do to protect themselves.

New favorite phrase βthereβs knowledge in the stankβ ππ€
63
"Yeah let's send the guy with the allergy to the thing to do a story on the thing." Bro, did you lose a bet, or piss someone off? I feel for ya.
63
Really loving how this series embraces the awkwardness of invention and being in front of a camera explaining things. It's really fun to see how past and current science is messy, very good science communication
62
The women shown catching these snakes are badass fr πβ€οΈ

PBS is Joy.

I live in Florida, the idea of storms slowing down and being stuck in the eye for hours sounds terrifying! Loved how easy this was to follow and how Maiya breaks it all down!
61
Maiya does such a great job conveying information about the climate in a digestible and compelling way. Keep up the good work, team!
60
So creative and fun to watch! Excited to see more from Stephanie and whole team! You guys rockππ€©π€©

The moment where you both just stared at the extinct frogs was striking to me. Even the researcher seemed surprised at the scope of the tragedy that is befalling amphibians.

The last part was pretty interesting about an AI adapting alarm. As much as I love my cat Mackerel, I agree cats have done huge damage to wild ecosystems. There was a study and a documentary, I remember watching from the UK where it was a whole study on tracking cats and seeing what and where they end up/do during the day and night outdoors.
59
You guys!! This is really beautiful. Proud of you, Caitlin and Arlo.
58
Hats off to the cinematographers. This has some gorgeous views.
56
Sheeps are the best, they are so gentle and easy to work with im glad to see someone putting an old art to use. Youβre giving me ideas and I really appreciate that! Great work and wish you further success!
55
I came over from Deep Look. I love that Channel. This Channel is starting out fantastically. I'm from Virginia so I β€ the Blue Ridge Mountains!
55
Great video! Loved the humour and styling- making it accessible to all ages. Will be showing my students this! looking forward to the next one in their series.
55
Right? I was just ready for a geology lesson. Glad we got more β€
54
That leggy boi thoπππ Great work as always!
54
Quickly becoming a favorite series of mine! Keep up the good work!
53
these wonderful amazing multipurpose companions and the dedicated intelligent people who care for and work with them will ALWAYS have my admiration
53
Shane Campbell-Staton, you are my hero! I have spent a lot of time working among academics, so I know the kind of posturing that goes on in that environment, and the fissure that can open up between scientists and the world around them. I have so much admiration for how you approach this journalistic role with down-to-earth humility and humor and curiosity. Thank you so much for choosing to do this important work, and for doing it so well. (Perhaps this is a delayed comment, because these thoughts were first inspired by previous episodes. "I learned to make cinnamon rolls from a YouTube video once"... )π
52
Really appreciate the land and idigenous acknowledgement at the end π
51
This video is really great. The dogs, the people are magnificent. Thank you!!
51
This was absolutely amazing on so many levels. Thank you for sharing!!
50
The quality of your videos have gone up a lot, really informative and entertaining! I especially appreciate the metric conversions for measurements as in not from the US and imperial is really hard to understand :D
48
This is my first time watching this show, and I'm really digging it! Also, I wonder how bottlenecked the blue whales' total genome has gotten from their near extinction. I have to imagine it's pretty pared down. Of course, long-lived, slow-developing animals tend to have some mechanisms to speed up genetic diversity development, so hopefully that's helping keep the populations healthy and able to fend off disease.
46
"... no matter where you live" (in the US) Great video, but would be interesting to also learn more about Europe and Asia
46
Oh, it's Joe. I love this series. π
46
HELLO hi welcome, nice to see you here
45
An excellent video, though I would've liked to hear more from Mr. Figueroa. Indigenous history from Indigenous sources and perspectives is so valuable.
44
Wow what a cool woman, I bet she comes from a really great family.
44
I am really enjoying the series. I'm glad public broadcasting exists and interesting content like this can be produced without catering to the mass appeal of a commercial audience.
43
Maiya, I would watch anything you put out. You always have the best coverage of anyone when it comes to climate change, IMO.
43
Really enjoying this Weathered series
41
I used to live along Johnson Creek in Portland, Oregon. I was surprised that she mentioned the 1996 flood. I remember it. Fortunately, we lived on a hill. It was fun seeing where I used to live in the video.
41
So excited for this show to hit the airwaves! Animal IQ is dropping our first episode this THURSDAY at 11am ET / 2pm PT !! πππ
41
"Lost his good gloves on day 2" I have never been to Antarctica but I can relate.
41
I love the idea of using nature and natural processes to combat climate change, this is very beautiful I hope more people take to such initiatives, we all need this earth and we should all protect it Very positive message β€
40
Wow. Such a clear and concise explanation and Shannon is awesome!
39
I love PBS so much. This channel was great. I love the feeling of exploring Earth that it brings
38
He's an amazing interviewer and journalist, he really made this story come to life. And the last lady was so interesting to listen to and hear about how they developed this interplay between concrete and jungle.
38
Being an Oregonian and regular visiting seaside and hearing the severity is just astounishing
