The woke Left thinks thar absolutely anyone should be able to enter the country (as long as they don't move into their neighbourhoods) & these useless economic migrants impact not only our economy & social cohesion but also the friendly & hardworking immigrants who have actually made the effort to integrate & contribute. I know a couple of Kenyans who are fantastic people, speak the language fluently & have probably paid more tax than me since they've been here...& definitely orders of magnitude more tax than the feckless indigenous benefits scroungers on council estates!

  48. We have always been a compassionate country and accepted those genuinely being persecuted and who can’t find redress in their home country. The problem now is the system is being blatantly abused by those supposedly “wanting to see a better life“ gaming the system; if you want a better life work hard in your own country to make it better, don’t just pack up and move to somebody else’s. It’s not surprising that when people see these folks wash up on the beaches and that the vast majority of them seem to be young men they get angry knowing that the vast majority of them probably will be allowed to stay on some spurious grounds. Of course, a significant part of the problem is that the immigration authorities aren’t properly staffed and so it’s easier to grant someone asylum than to get into the lengthy and costly process of denying it and dealing with the ambulance chasing lawyers putting up all sorts of serious reasons why someone shouldn’t be deported, like they’ve suddenly realised they’re gay or converted to Christianity.
