Also: as a psychologist, this is one of the MAIN issues in trauma therapy. You develop ptsd because you AVOID your triggers. That is exactly what exposure therapy is about (as you said). So, i'm sure many people are aware, but it basically works like this: say you get mugged at a subway station. That experience traumatizes you, so your natural reaction would be to avoid the subway. BUT what your brain learns is that you are comfortable, as long as you don't go to the subway, because you are actively avoiding to do so. Clearly, your last memory/experience of this place is that you were mugged or you got anxiety afterwards and leaving the subway made the anxiety disappear. The more you avoid the station now, the stronger the link subway-mugging and outside - safe gets. That's why exposure therapy is so incredibly effective. It makes you learn, that you don't always get mugged in the subway despite your fear of doing so. So if you have ptsd and you always avoid everything that could be potentially upsetting to you, you only get stronger anxiety, until you avoid anything forever. Obviously this is an oversimplification, but that's the basic mechanism. If you want to learn something about yourself and discover your strengths, and truly heal... Trigger warnings won't do it

I came out as gender fluid to everyone close to me, friends and family, why did I come out as gender fluid? I was told I should "explore my identity" simply because I liked dressing tomboyish and feminine depending on the day. Apparently, that was a "characteristic" of not being "cisgender" (whatever that word means anymore).
I listened, so I came out. I had a huge existential crisis, I was super confused, really scared, so I decided to see my therapist. She was okay with the idea of me being trans, but told me she wanted to make sure there wasn't something else underneath. Oh boy, there sure was: fear of being a woman, internalized misogyny (associating the idea of being a woman with a negative perception), self esteem issues, people pleasing and wanting to fit in. I absolutely love being a woman, I AM A WOMAN, I'm not "a cisgender AFAB woman", I'M A WOMAN, period. Trans women exist, trans men exist, but not every person that claims to be trans IS IN FACT TRANS, kids are easily impressionable, manipulable, and what's happening is dangerous
