The fact Australia, one of the most energy rich nations on Earth, has the highest energy costs in the western world and faces rolling blackouts to industry and homes is absolutely criminal. Aussies should have near free power but the net zero policies are destroying Aussie businesses and further driving households into unmanageable debt. It surprises me people aren't more angry about this, I know I sure am every time I get my near doubled power bills - WHERE IS MY $275 SAVING ALBO?!

A lot of big companies especially gas and mining companies in Australia pay no tax or next to no tax. So that should be fixed.
106
Look what happened in Canada. Exact same thing is happening in Australia. Hopefully our PM resigns or is voted out. We are paying for these pigs and their lavish lifestyles.

More tenacity isn't the answer, this housing disaster is ordained by the federal government. Here's the culprits.... 1. The Australian Labor party 2. The Australian liberal party 3. Banks 4. Real estate agents

My wife works at a big supermarket. She told me they have a computer program that adds a few cents each week, every week. The price tickets are pulled every Wednesday and new ones placed for Thursday (pay day). An almost imperseptable rising tide, prices linger below noticable thresholds, then push through. Half a cabbage $5, bunch of grapes $5 etc. It is corporate profit gouging.

Australia is so far down the toilet now a flush would send us into the Tasmanian Sea.

Last year 1100000 people immigrated to Australia. There are 2,842,378 rental properties in Australia. Of these 0.9 are vacant at the moment. That is 25581 houses available for rent.
102
I am 59 years old now and grew up in Queensland. I have lived through many cyclones and never did we have a rush on the supermarkets. It was ridiculous to see everyone go crazy and empty the shelves. I thought it might be because of immigration and people from overseas who haven't lived or seen cyclones panicked and ran to the shops. But no, it's what you said, it was the friggin media causing all this drama.

I'm spending more on groceries than ever before 😢

Strange how all Western countries are going through exactly the same things - Tax, tax, tax, housing, food, power, car etc. We are being squeezed for some reason, but I'm not sure why. The only thing I can think of is WEF and Klaus Schwab "You will own nothing and be happy".

A Sheep spends it’s whole life being afraid of the howl of the Wolf but in the end it is the Shepherd that eats the Sheep.
99
Well said mate. We are fucked.
99
Australia need to go back 10 years ago to be Australia again, rent was half the price, food was way cheaper etc bring Australia back
99
Our hospitals are disgusting right now aswell..
98
Mount Druitt hitting a million is insane..
98
Australia even used to make TV's, and electronics, like Oscilloscopes. Most White Goods were made here.
98
Start protesting
97
It's maddening watching both sides of government rule us as a 'global citizen' rather than rule Australia for Australians.
97
I’m 69 years old , I’ve seen the best of Australia, 30 years ago it was the greatest country on earth , My last years are spent in Thailand and Cambodia , I can’t afford the Lucky Country on the Pension ,
97
Homes should NEVER have been turned into a commodity. Period.
97
Milk used to be $1 a litre…now $1.60. A Cole’s roast chicken was $10, now $12.50. Chicken breast was $9 everyday of the week, now $12…and they tell us inflation is 3%.
96
China for the Chinese India for the Indians Pakistan for the Pakistanis Australia for everyone 🤔
94
What's even worse is spot the Australian we are out numbered by people who don't even like Australians 😮
94
Mr Singh and Mr Chin are moving in to take your place
94
Let’s be honest. It really does matter about certain cultures they let in here.
92
Yup Australia is fucked I can’t wait to get out of here. Too hard to expensive to woke
92
As a Brisbane resident, I can confirm Chris's assessment is valid. It is all about fear and control now.
92
I was struggling severely until I finally got rid of all debt besides my mortgage, no car loans, no credit card no personal loans, car loans are the biggest killers of wealth
92
There are real estate companies here fully run by Chinese. They advertise in Chinese, they only want to sell to Chinese. I’ve had people begging me to sell my home because they have a waitlist of Chinese investors wanting to buy in my neighbourhood. I am VERY tempted to sell it but and a massively overinflated price to them but I won’t. Most of the homes that are occupied by foreigners here remain empty most of the year. My Japanese neighbour only comes over for a few weeks a year and this year they didn’t come over. So they wren’t bringing money into our economy they aren’t working to build it or make it better.

20 years of unvetted uncontrolled Migration Chutzpah yet we still have a so called Skills crisis,What a Circus.
89
Who decides these skill shortages? The list is now just taking the piss. Sounds like someone getting kickbacks, corruption and rorting.
89
Australia is hell. 😢 Everyone is leaving.
88
bro they brought in 1.4 million people in the last two years
87
I’m an Asian immigrant here in Queensland for more than 10 years. I support what you said 100%.
87
I earn $35/hr and I feel as broke if not more than when I was an apprentice on $16/hr
87
What about $8.00 bucks for a F/ ing Pineapple , or $40.00 dollars for a Watermellon :face-purple-crying:YOU ALMOST HAVE TO GET A BANK LOAN TO BUY YOUR GROCERIES THESE DAYS .
87
Hi Chris. I am from overseas (Russia) and i am shocked too (i am here 11 years). My youtube channel is all about this current situation in Australia so i warn people to think twice before they decide coming to Australia. I have never been so broke too..
86
I could see this crisis coming for twenty years. It's like a dog chasing their tail, nobody getting ahead. I made more money than twenty years ago, but I have less to spend.
86
This is what happens when people continue to vote for the uniparty
84
Labor Housing Minister Clare O'Neil openly said on Triple J their intention is to keep increasing house prices. She/He is the same minister previously in charge of Immigration that flooded Australia with 1.7 million migrants. You deserve the government you vite for
84
An old man once told me that the monarchy was forced to give Australia to the U.N. after one of the world wars to pay their war debt. Australians haven't owned Australia ever. The Aboriginals had it until England got here, then they gave it to United Nations. We as citizens have only ever had the illusion of ownership.
83
Sucks, I started working multiple jobs back in 2022 (including DoorDash) early in the hopes that I'd get ahead with my first house in Sydney. Fast forward to this day all I could buy was a noisy apartment single bedroom single bathroom and 1 carpark for $780,000. My standard of living has gone down catastrophically over the past 4-5 years. Thanks to stagnant wages, uncontrolled immigration and global wars that our elites think Ukrainians and Taiwanese are more important than Australians.
83
Amen. $70 gets me like 4 days of food for a single person. People might say well buy cheaper food and freeze your food. We shouldn't have to freeze all of our meals. We shouldn't have to eat rubbish to survive. We should be able to eat fresh food every day and it not cost us hundreds of dollars.
82
I’m 69 I’ve seen the best years , for living in Australia, that was 30 years ago
82
As australians, we’ve been very kind. We are a reasonable people and a welcoming culture. We have nothing against immigrants or immigration. What we don’t like is MASS immigration. A sensible humane intake of 50-100k per year isn’t something majority of Australians will even care about. But that’s not what we have been getting, I’ve heard numbers between 400-700k per year. Our politicians are behind this and they’re doing it for their donors and to paper over their own economic mismanagement… and don’t forget the housing Ponzi scheme. Gotta keep pumping that up. The biggest calls for more and increased mass immigration are coming from developers.
82
Save your money so you can buy a house in SEA or South America once you get enough. Australia is FUCKED
80
And to elaborate to why i think its too late, the more people let in. The more common culture and values is diversified and the less common values we have the less people group up for change. Its already too late imo and it was done on purpose.
80
Australia is gone. 😢
79
Mate as a fellow Aussie I am fucking absolutely disgusted in our polical policies which have done this to Australians since 90's. They have sold our industry out sold homes outb and sold our future out. The pink elephant in the room has become so huge Elon may see it from Mars....
